Shift's sense of speed is really something that haven't been replicated in any other racing game ever. And the helmet cam immersion is so out of this world to the point that you are scared to go fast.

Glad to see you're still using my Sal suggestion, at least early on. Scouts are so busted in Carbon, practically makes the game play itself, and certainly can lead to some entertaining moments. Surprised to see them losing sometimes, even with the Remaster.

Using Drafter and Blocker worked well at carbon tho.

Scouts are not that good. They're programmed to be ahead of the player so they can mark down shortcuts for them, but this also triggers rubberbanding in opponent AI that Scouts can't always keep up with, basically makes the game more difficult with no chance of keeping up (because Scouts are designed to be ahead of you) Now, Drafters on the other hand, they basically do the same thing without speeding too far ahead. And on top of that, you can activate them to go beyond the speed cap. Drafters are what all the good speedrunners use.

Scouts will fuck you over by break checking you, ramming you, clipping you on corners, or cutting you off by turning in front of you suddenly. Drafter aren't much better, but they can at least help you recover.

I wish modders would stop messing with difficulty. It's like their idea of improving gameplay is making it 50 time harder so you have to restart a race 50 times before you either get lucky or quit. They keep fucking with the balance of the games and make them worse. This is why movies and games need a good director, because simply being able to do something doesn't always mean you should.

exactly, this rework looks beautiful but the ai difficulty is so incredibly high, there is always one or two cars that outrun you so hard that you can't do anything about it, just see them get further and further away from you and lose

@hearyoume9004 I complained about this because a lot of community-made "remasters" look beautiful and have improved and/or new features, but the difficulty and imbalance makes them nearly unplayable. If a game is too difficult it becomes a chore to play and people give up before halfway through because what's the point of doing something completely unprodoctive if you don't at least enjoy it. Developers and publishers know that, which is why they balance it in such a way that it's hard enough to not get boring, but easy enough to finish it in like 10-20 hours.

This mod makes Carbon look a lot like NFS 2015, which isn't a bad thing because from a purely visual standpoint, 2015 is my favourite. Honestly, a remaster of that game with the handling physics fixed and an expanded car list would be the perfect NFS imo.

Strange they decided to add traffic to every canyon event, which makes duels weird, it's not the skill that matters, it's not hitting a traffic car. However, they kept the no cops policy for checkpoint events. That's also strange because most wanted tolbooth had cops.

Honestly it's cool that make mods for old games especially in NFS and with your statement early in the video yes you're right but also mods are made not only to enchance the game but also trying to fix the problems it had because although the game is good and old it has big downsides lit's say like Undercover and now look how a mod made the game WAY better. I believe one day in the future with technology changing so fast that Unbound will have a mod that will make the game amazing and I believe that, Hope 2015 stays around and one day becoe offline to see where that game can go too.

I always thought the Heat Gauge was a "breaking" meter, because whenever I hit a vehicle it went up. I used to think that, if it reached x5, my car would get totalled. One of the reasons to why I used to be scared of chases. Overall, the remaster looks amazing if you compare it to hot garbage like Unbound and Heat. People are making remasters better than AAA companies like EA and Microsoft.

28:59 Not really? Heat's beginning race was you as a crew member of Anna's crew. It wasn't you, the player character, who lost the car it was the crew member. So that connection wasn't there at all. You just showed up one day to join in the street racing activities of this new city and then slowly get intertwined with Ann and her brother as a side character to their revenge story. Still a decent story, but things could've been done better. It still just kinda blows knowing how much 2015 and Payback were supported, while Heat got shafted very quickly for NFS Unbound's development. Still hands down the best of the Ghost Games era of NFS games. I'm still keen on trying NFS Unbound out when it's on a ridiculous discount to see how that feels despite how terrible it is from what people have said.

Bruh i gotta tell you right now or at least when the game came out cuz i dont know how much it costs now, it wasnt worth the price that i payed it was like 69,99 euro which in my currency its like 300 lei and that is extreme not even gta 5 after the release on pc was that expensive and it was a waste of money shouldve bought nfs heat instead because the game in its current state is garbage i only have 20 hours in the game and i bought it when it came out

the game becomes easier when opponents suddenly transition from tier2 cars to tier3 after you capture the three cities, that's how stupidly overpowered they made the tier2 cars such as silvia s15, when you unlock it by playing challenge series, you can see they made it exactly for the ai to be crazy hard in it, because it has only 1 gear, is crazy responsive to the steering and can reach over 500km/h if you upgrade it

I know, that is the reason why i dont play this rework anymore because this isnt a good way to remove easy competition like just make the ai behave like darius in the canyon being 100% skilled instead of giving them 3000hp and handling like its on rails like that is just dumb that makes the rework unplayable in tier 2 to be honest and when people complained in the discord server of the creator he just responds with skill issue he is completely delusional
