@AustinTheTruth No,not correct! Ice Cube was smart enough not to sign the contract with Ruthless Records..He knew about business because he had graduated college..At the end of the day it's about principle & reasoning that separates the successful from the not so successful..Ice Cube knew his self worth and believed he deserved more than what he was getting from Ruthless records..So that's why he didn't sign..That is the difference..In the case of Snoop,he was lucky to have met Master P who took a chance to sign him to No Limit records..It was Master P who taught Snoop business strategies & self development..Otherwise,Snoop would have probably ended up like Kurupt & other Deathrow artists!
@DemiGodX
@DemiGodX Жыл бұрын
Snoop and the dogg pound were in their teens when they started getting in the game. Back then they were probably more excited to see themselves on tv, hear themselves on the radio and go on the road getting groupies. Sometimes it’s better to establish yourself when you’re just starting and keep the momentum going. U know why Bone fell off? Cuz Bizzy wasn’t happy with his money, he was real young too and instead of keeping the momentum rolling, they started complaining and trying to do their own thing independently. And without that machine behind them their music started to suck. They needed that visionary like a Dr Dre or Eazy E. Hell some people would work for free if they know Dre is producing their album. Make sacrifices early it’ll benefit in the long run Even Bone knew their contracts with ruthless were shit. They saw all those Dre day videos and ice cube disses, but they were starving and doing anything to get in the game

I have a lot and I mean A LOT of RESPECT for Kurupt. Very loyal to Suge and Death Row, true to his experiences, no animosity and he speaks the truth on past events and reality and that's why I fucks with him and support and buy his albums. Excellent interviews, Art. Keeping it real on Death Row!

Totally agree with Kurupt here. Perspective is everything. That’s how things were done at that time in that era. It’s easy to say things would be different based on how business is done now but back then if you were in it you were in it….It’s different when you’re on the outside looking in as opposed to actually being in it in real time

He's already humble. What Kurupt are you listening to? He's very much humble! He could be on some true arrogant shit, but always speaks from a point growth and maturity, in hindsight. That's honorable. Peace and love to Kurupt!

@@mosthighchosen614 He’s right to a certain point regarding being a youth , but you don’t remember he’s leaving out that his partner “Daz” stayed at death row. On top of kids still getting bad deals today . RBX was just on here saying he ain’t accept none of material things since the Chronic album, so he had someone right in the crew to school him. I just wasn’t feeling his answers.

Kurupt is right. Early 90's music artists period did not get record deals that were lucrative to the artist. That slowly changed over the years.
