that new Grand piano is terrific. I have a PC3x that just won't die. I regret not getting one of these PC4s before our store stopped carrying Kurzweil... staff discount would have been sweet.

Very nice. K2700 being delivered in a couple of days and I’m looking forward to playing similar sounds. I chose the K27 over the PC4 due to all the extra factory sounds, more memory and controllers. Pity it’s so heavy though…

This synth was selling for $1499 for a while. Now it's back up to $1999 everywhere Except Band H which has it at $1739. If they ever discount it to $1499 again, I would buy it but to pay $500 more for something that was $1499 six months ago is not for me. Especially in synths that are always going to be replaced by a new model.

Love this board, i own the kawai mp7se, the pianos are awesome but this one on this kurzweil sounds gorgeous, only thing i fear if i traded it in is that the kurzweil does not have midi through which i find myself using often to load additional sounds. I midi to myself to get additional banks, to find usable sounds, but i feel with this board i might find more usable sounds without using midi thru…. Its def been on my mind, i wonder how leading 1200 people with it through worship would be, my Kawai does excellent and is so intuitive and things are tight infront of me, i wonder how accessible things are on this board. By the way great playing. Would it be worth the tradeoff, im scared to get rid of my rh3 action

Honestly if the feel of the piano keybed is important, then stick with the Kawai. If you just want the better piano tone, then it’s the Kurzweil - in my opinion.

Hello. Definitely prefer the PC4 for the sounds. I love the piano’s, EP’s and Orchestral sounds. If I were more a synth guy….then I’d pick the MODX. The Yamaha may also have a little more ease of use because everyone is already familiar with them.
@pascalferriot6233

@@heavenlysounds6362 thanks a lot for the answer :-) I am more a synth guy but I do not know the VAST approach, just heard from a friend that the synth sounds form a PC4 are amazing and probably better than modx, do You agree with that ? Why would you pick the Modx if you were a "synth guy" ?
@heavenlysounds6362
@heavenlysounds6362 Жыл бұрын
@@pascalferriot6233 Honestly because I’m not a synth guy I really don’t know for sure. I just go by certain brands are better at certain things. Nord, Kawai, and Kurzweil are best for realistic piano sounds and such. Korg, and Yamaha more for synths, pads etc. Although I know the PC4 has an actual FM synthesis engine. And if your into programming and vintage analog synths, then yes it is great for that too.

Thank you for posting the helpful video. I am considering the PC4 or the K2700. Any suggestions? I have read the specs and know the k2700 is heavier and has more memory, and a built-in audio interface (which I don't need).
@heavenlysounds6362
@heavenlysounds6362 2 жыл бұрын
Hello. Both Keyboards are great and do just about everything you can imagine. The PC4 is very light, lighter than my Artis SE. It seems to be built for portability and gigging. The K2700 not so much but you get more features and a much greater preset library. PC4 has plenty of programs presets but kinda lacks on the multis. However it allows space for creating. The K2700 also allows for creating but has massive multi presets as well.

Did you EQ some of the pianos? I can see the EQ is on (switch 1 is lit) and the bass frequencies are nicely rich.
@heavenlysounds6362

If the EQ section was lit I wasn’t paying attention to it. I just used the sound patches exactly as how they come up - didn’t add anything extra.

Can a Kurzweil K2700 sound identical to these sounds in this video? In all the time since the release of the K2700 I have not heard a sound as beautiful as the PC4 does, maybe the K2700 is not as sweet, and does not have the same internal circuitry as the PC4, am I wrong?
@heavenlysounds6362
@heavenlysounds6362 2 жыл бұрын
Hello. Although I haven’t played the K2700, I’m pretty sure the K2700 has all the same sounds and then some. It’s supposed to be a step up from the PC4. At the end of my video I am playing my own sound patch i created using existing sounds on the PC4 but the same exact thing can be done on the K2700

Would an amateur classical pianist be satisfied with the action of this keyboard?
@heavenlysounds6362
@heavenlysounds6362 3 жыл бұрын
I have mixed feelings about it. I prefer the action on my personal keyboard (Kurzweil Artis SE) which is a little heavier. But the Artis is a bit slower on the bounce back lol. (What I mean is how the keys bounce back up after pressing down) I really liked the bounce back on the PC4- makes for a more responsive feel

Hi I also have PC4 and love the sound and touch. Is this sound I'm hearing from a speaker or through a DAW? I wanted to record PC4's sound using a DAW but realised that I have to use a VST which won't have PC4's sound. I can see a computer screen in this video and I wonder if you are using a DAW or how you recorded PC4's sound. Thanks.
@heavenlysounds6362
@heavenlysounds6362 3 жыл бұрын
Hello. Yeah I used Presonus Studio One DAW for recording. There is a free version of Studio One available to record as well. Only thing that is needed for any DAW is an audio interface. There are all kinds of audio interfaces out there for recording any instrument into a DAW. There are even some audio interfaces that come with a free download for a DAW already. That might be something to look into as well. Hope this helps 👍

@@heavenlysounds6362 Thank you. But how did you record the sound of your PC4 through a DAW? I believe you used your PC4 as a MIDI controller here. Is it the audio interface that enables to record PC4's presets in a DAW? May I please ask what audio interface you used? Sorry, I have little knowledge on recordings.
@heavenlysounds6362
@heavenlysounds6362 3 жыл бұрын
@@thomasroh6176 I did not use MIDI. I used the outputs on the PC4 direct in to the audio interface - then the audio interface uses a USB cable to the computer. I’m using a Behringer XR18 (which is actually a digital mixer that can also be used as an interface). But for a more basic setup I recommend the Behringer UMC202 HD or the Motu M2. Hope this helps. Why my k2700 doesn't sound like that?
@heavenlysounds6362
@heavenlysounds6362 2 жыл бұрын
Great question. I’m assuming your talking about the piano. When I first played the PC4 I’ve wondered why the piano on my Kurzweil Artis SE sounded better. The PC4 is a superior keyboard wouldn’t the piano at least be the same?…. I will actually be putting up a comparison video of the (2) keyboards in the future. But in the meantime I have a tip to help. I used the “Concert Piano” and tweaked the reverb down a bit, then I lowered the piano resonance to 0 and that got me pretty close to the piano sound I was looking for.

Are you playing in stereo? If both outputs L & R are not being used it will not sound the same or nearly as good. Part of the sample and effects will be missing if you are in mono mode.

Hello - I currently have a Kurzweil Piano, but its at least 20 years old !!! I love it - It still plays well, but it will give a loud pop and scare me half to death - I will turn it off and it will play for a brief time and repeat the pop !! While its playing it sounds fine, but once it pops it will cut off !! Was wondering if you have heard of any others doing this, or is it just getting old, or could perhaps be fixed ? If it can't be fixed, what is the going price of them now - I'm sure they're pretty pricey - I gave a good price for this one years ago !!! So glad I found you - Thanks for any info you can give me !!!!

Hello. As far as the popping sound, you should probably have a technician take a look at it. Could be a bad connection or power supply on it going bad. There is a “Kurzweil Music Systems” Facebook page that might be be helpful. I personally haven’t had that issue with any of my Kurzweil keyboards over the years. As far as new Kurzweil keyboards, I’d checkout Sweetwater.com to see the pricing on new ones. They’re competitive to other keyboards. Hope this helps
