HessFest XIII tickets available at www.mikehessbrewing.com.
HessFest is the anniversary party for Mike Hess Brewing; it is on August 12th, 2023, doors open at noon, held at Pier Plaza Park in Imperial Beach, CA. It is a family-friendly, all-ages day of live music, great food, Hess beers, sun and fun, with four local bands (Anthony Cullins, The Sully Band, Daring Greatly and PHT and Honky Tonk nights), food vendors, local merchants, a free cornhole tournament with fabulous prizes, free souvenir schwag, and most importantly, raises money for a great organization. All of the proceeds are donated by MHB.
This year, that organization is Oncology and Kids, a foundation that provides free camps and other services to kids and their families who are undergoing or recovering from cancer treatments. They run Camp Reach for the Sky, a camp that is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Mike Hess Brewing started out in a small industrial park in Miramar 13 years ago. Today, they've grown to 7 locations across the county and state, and each year they celebrate their anniversary by raising money for worthy organizations. Their purpose of bringing people together over great beer around great causes is on display each year at HessFest, where they donate all of the proceeds to those organizations. This year, the beneficiary is Oncology and Kids. Mike and Lynda Hess and the rest of the team are proud to do good every day, every month all year and to help out causes like OAK.
Oncology And Kids, Inc., is a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded to offer free support programs for children affected by cancer and their siblings. The organization’s main goal is to operate/fund quality-of-life programs, peer support programs that bring normalcy to kids affected by cancer-patients, survivors, siblings, children with a parent who has cancer, and kids who have lost a sibling to the disease.
We do this by promoting positive mental health programming into each of our core programs: Resident Oncology Camp, Sibling Camp, Day Camp, Teen Weekend, Family Camp, Bereavement Camp and Virtual Camp.
