Not on a commercial plan myself but I've stopped instagraming once for about a year, for reasons, got back for few months, realized it got even worse in terms of exposure, so stopped again. Wanted to focus on my other account which is not related to photography.... but it was hacked one week after disabling my main photography account lol - ah the drama. In fact, I'm trying my best to pull myself away from FB-related apps. I do strongly think and also do suggest, that people should find other ventures away from Instagram and FB to either show their arts or to go commercial I'm still having a hard time digesting that concept they work with about scrambling the chronological order and controlling what people "should" see first in their feeds!

I am so glad you shared these tips, I make videos on youtube and I shoot them in my phone.If I get enough subscribers I'll think of investing in a camera, but for now I think the phone works great!!

Oh absolutely shooting with your phone is such a good way to start out, I've also made some vlogs just using my phone and still use it often as a second camera for my videos :) I think it's more about your ideas and personality, and the gear and investing in quality is something you can always focus on a bit later :)

True brands are important for istangram but clearly youtube is not much about brands but more about ppl. I'm here (and on instagram too) first of all for your personality. i come here to listen to you no matter what you are talking or will talk about (books, travel, photos, design, cloths & etc). Brands are important but its really more interesting to comunicate with human beeng. You get more close to smb u start to love them... The good example here is pewdiepie. He is the most subscribed youtuber. he started from videogames, but now he does completily diffrent thing, he never got any other chanels, he did so many different tipes of videos for years, and he is not forgotten, contrary he gain even more views and subscrubers every day. because its true, ppl come for certant content but stay for person and start love everithng they do. and also one thing is that after a while you get a little bored with only one specific theme. the interest in few years can go away, you evolve, and it's good to see how your fav youtuber evolve too, and did not stay with same content for years, years and years....

Does it make sense to continue posting photos on Instagram that are not in line with the new brand? The photos I am posting are not ugly, but they are not the best.
