So smart of you to make videos for your patterns. I'm still new to knitting and bought your book months ago but haven't made anything yet because I realized I'm a visual learner, especially when I'm first starting to learn something. Both of your recent sweater videos have clarified so much for me. Thank you so much! I did not expect to have the desire to knit fall/winter clothes in the spring/summer but here we are.

You should try the stay up till dawn sweater from the book!!! It was my very first sweater, it took me a few tries but its on thick needles and a thick yarn so it knits up pretty fast and it has no special textures so just read the pattern closely, I believe in you! :)
@Ali-yo6vl Жыл бұрын
@Michal Ostrovsky Thank you so much for your belief in me, I already feel changed as a result 😊 My first sweater was a raglan sweater by @handmadebyflorence. She has a step by step tutorial on her channel and an easy to follow pattern I highly recommend. Once I finished that sweater I wanted to make another sweater that was not a raglan sweater and had no idea how to do things like picking up stitches (for the collar, for ex) and joining the body and sleeves. The basic fundamentals of knitting are easier to learn in video format (for me, at least) once I get to a certain level I can rely solely on patterns but I don't feel like I'm there yet.
@michalostrovsky5799 Жыл бұрын
@@Ali-yo6vl Yes no problem! I definitely understand what you're saying, but I learned that sometimes it's good to just start a project and learn as you go. I've also been thinking about making Florence's sweater and now that you recommend it I might!! Her patterns are gorgeous!

The genius of your channel is the tutorials that go along with the patterns. For a semi inexperienced knitter like me it’s been a game changer. I have purchased and made this far the cinema sweater and the darling cardigan. Salty days are on my needles and I just bought the love letter too and another cardigan. Please keep making the tutorials with the patterns!!!! Thank you!

This is the second piece I've ever knit, the first was just a simple stocking stitch cardigan where the pattern was basically "knit back and forth until it reaches desired length." I had some other patterns I wanted to try but didn't feel experienced enough to tackle a pattern. This video is excellent in teaching not only how to read patterns and use charts, but also how to cable knit. Gorgeous sweater that looks far more complicated when finished than it was to knit. Now I'm going to have to knit all of your patterns!

I am a textile artist and teacher for over twenty years and use various textile techniques to express myself and the theme I am working on. I tried knitting decades ago and decided; not my cup of tea. But you started a flame in me again. This last tutorial is so good and the sweater is so loose and wearable in different weather conditions. I would like to have one. But most of all I like your wool choices; combining a fluffy thread with a normal thread gives the sweaters something hugeable and appealing. Specially if if the mohair thread is one shade lighter.

It was really difficult for me to work the ribbing in the sleeve edge because of the very small circumference. I tried with 40mm cable, I tried with a magic loop but no hope. Thankfully I discovered that there is a way to knit small circumference with two circular needles, and then I was finally able to finish the sleeves. All in all, this is a great pattern, and the instructions are very clear. It is my 2nd knit project 😊

I deserve a white sweater! and this pattern is just beautiful, the detail added right before the cuffs is everything. Also, want to make the triangle scarf in white. Maybe a Victorian white/pearl color. And just realized recently what the difference between drop shoulders and raglan etc even was and that I prefer the look of drop shoulders so this tutorial will be very helpful i'm sure when it's time.
