Best part about hockey is that you don’t even really have to learn the rules, you’ll understand it just by watching the flow of the game

Oh, you'll learn fast. You don't have to know all the stats and numbers and all that, learn the rules and you're good. You got icing, offsides, puck out of play. Majority of your Penalties are high sticking, tripping, roughing, cross-checking, interference and delay of game. If you're at a live game, scream your guts out when they score, boo really loud when visiting team scores, and whistle and yell or bang the glass. If they get a penalty boo, if they're on the power play (visiting teams in the sin bin) do the same as if they scored a goal. If it's a face off for icing, it'll be near the net or the time that iced the puck, same for delay of game or penalty. If it's offsides (team going into offensesive area player doesn't have the puck, you have to follow the puck) faceoff takes place in the neutral zone (that area between the red line and the defense line which is blue where the red faceoff circles are). If the goalie stops the puck and holds onto it as the ref whistles, it's freezing the puck and faceoff takes place in their defensive zone. There's Hockey Rules 101 on KZbin to help you. Faceoff rules themselves are a little more complicated and tricky to explain but, that's the gist of it. Just watch the game, love and enjoy it, and find out why Utah got an NHL team instead of an NFL team. Even the Jazz are jealous NHL came to Utah but it should motivate the Jazz to not be outdone by their NHL counterparts. Hopefully, UHC doesn't take after the Jazz though. Utah needs a solid sports team again and NHL may not disappoint you. NBA is HUGE in Utah but, I have a feeling hockey is about to take off. Y'all have had the Grizzlies but, they're terrible. Maybe some scrimmages with an NHL team will help em out. But, yeah! Welcome to the world of hockey! It's an amazing sport! Good fit for Utah. Take good care of them, better care than the Grizzlies have gotten. I was the loudest one in that arena last game I went to and my Steelheads won!

Any idea how much tickets will cost? My birthday is September 27th, the season opens a couple days before, and they play an away game on the 27th I believe…. But the next home game after the 27th of September I REALLY want to attend. This is a child heard a dream come true have having an NHL team in Salt Lake City finally

They are in infringement of the naming rights. The University of Utah's Hockey teams are literally and figuratively, club hockey and Smith has zero rights to use the name.

If they're they Yeti, they need a snarling and growling Yeti just like the Florida Panthers. The Coyotes had a howling Coyote didn't they? But there were people that had heard the Panthers had the Panthers...... That somehow became the Rats????? Panthers eat rats.... But they finally got to be at the Panthers arena to hear it in person and he said it was menacing. Everything he thought it would be. It's quiet there that night but, it's gonna be roaring when the season starts. They need edge, they need intimidating. Ya want a family friendly environment, for businesswise, but that's not the NHL, they're playin some Stevie and Fall Out Boy, but you need grunge, you need punk. You gotta get that place jumping like gorillas in a cage. Funny they had the Grizzlies ECHL ref there as their officiator
