Thanks for your responses to my comments. I know mimicking and mastering this vocal style are two different things so I plan on spending this year practicing to hone this because it would be foolish of me to assume I am anywhere near a mastered level already. I really have always liked the way this music sounded, but, when I found your video yesterday, it reminded me of how I liked this style's sound. I actually would like to learn this and use this as a supplement to my meditation. I feel like my brain is so relaxed after practicing these tones with my eyes closed for some reason. I'm genetically European but I feel as if this is an ancient singing method to link all Humans together, not just East Asians and Central Asians. I'm genetically European but I feel as if it really doesn't matter what ethnicity someone is, we should realize that our ancestors knew something that modern Humans aren't really in touch with anymore due to modern technology and our pre-occupation with city life and we are a bit disconnected from nature nowadays. I hope this doesn't seem like I'm stealing or appropriating your culture, I'm just interested in learning the ways of all other people to add to my quality of life. I trained in Asian and European martial arts from about 15 to 35 and I have noticing how much the world has to offer if you open your eyes (or ears).

when I was a kid, maybe 8 or 9 years old, I decided it would be "really cool" to talk by drawing air in instead of out. Now imagine a kid who's small for their age, weighs maybe 50 or 60 lbs, sounding like Louis Armstrong. Yeah ... actually ... it was cool!

I discovered throat singing through years of meditation... I began to naturally go into my throat and “hum” and channel the vibrations throughout my head and throat. I had a massive breakthrough in my meditation and connection to source, and it was all intuitive. Nobody showed me how to do what I was doing. Through my own personal experience, I began to seek out information about what I had discovered and it lead me to throat singing. The connection you receive through this practice is very real and very rewarding. ❤️

Bro that’s crazy that that was the purpose of throat singing. Every single time I hear it I literally cannot help but to think of the country of where I grew up and it was nothing but nature. Desert but still people don’t realize how much nature occurs in the desert and specifically how loud nature is at night in the desert. Throat singing reminds me of the calming noise the cicadas and crickets make when you hear them in the distance. I love it

Thank you so much. I first heard Tibetan monk throat singing years ago and dissolved into tears at the extreme contrast between the deep moving tones and the light pure intention of Life and Love that motivated it. Then as I see years later corruption and lies everywhere I find my self attracted to the idea of signing what has been called "punk" or "death metal", but I am loving light so there is no way I have anything to do with the political goals are glorifying violence of humans against humans. So I will make my own songs, and I appreciate this lesson.

Your 'sygyt' is amazing! I'm a high-pitch Rock vocalist so there's something about that whistle register-esque note in 'sygyt' that appeals to me DEEPLY. I keep imagining that one can actually incorporate that kind of note seamlessly with Rock/Metal interludes, to give the instrumental parts an ethereal, otherwordly feel. Amazing notes you're hitting, man. Wish I could hit that 'sygyt' tone as effortlessly... 😞

Hi Alex! So great to see a new fresh generation of throat singers like you coming out to spread the knowledge with people. I particularly like that you combine talking about technique with the feeling and connection to the inner and outer world, and that you do it with joy! The first time I heard Tuvan throat singing (the opening minute of Ghenghis Blues, completely by accident), time stood still. It truly felt and feels like this is 'singing the world into being' as many indigenous cultures like the Sápmi hold. Something connected to the silent orchestra you 'feel' when you see the northern lights, or are under a clear night sky in the silence of the high desert. The music underneath it all. Powerful stuff indeed. Well, I can do a bit of Sygyt, but for everything else I feel like I should have smoked a few decades to handle the vibrations. I hope to pick up your master class and get past the 'hüüürrr - hack hack hack' stage. :) Keep up the great work!

Unironically i did this too in a place with Llamas, horses, cows and a donkey. It is like a magnet hahahah they formed a semi circle in front of me and stared like if i was a hypnotic martian. Also the girls at the farm did the same but at my back... these are the moments that i regret being loyal and monogamous. Damn it. For the teenagers and singles: Try this. The rural women seems to love it. But be careful, urban girls gonna think you are a weirdo that speaks to donkeys.

I learned Kargaryaa and Khoomei just for fun and can sing any song I want with any words and pitch changes. For Sygyt, I can go high but have no idea how you do the whistle sounds. So basically I can sing fro about E0 up to F5 full on singing. I just sub'd and I can't wait to hear what other people do and possibly learn this really cool vocal technique. My singing is mostly rock infused but not harsh rock. I'm constantly surprised, now that i can do it, where I hear it was done and I never knew. I can do 3 notes (a cord) but for now I want to master just 2.
