Cleaning of the vacuum blender is just like any other blender.They are "autocleaning" I like to put some water and dish soap in the blender and run it for a minute (non vacuum) and then rinse and brush out with a brush.

Generally I don't clean that noise reduction cover, it stays clean. You should NOT submerge the cover, as water may get into some of the air tubes in there an may cause issues. So just wiping down with a wet cloth should be all that is required to clean.

Like other comments below I too am excited to finally see a retail vacuum blender available in the USA that have been highlighted by John at CES. However this unit looks massive. It look like it is competing with John for screen space. I expected to see vacuum blenders on sale back in May of 2017. I am holding myself back from picking this up to see if more blender companies are coming on board with product availability in the USA.

But are we going to pretend we don't see the 2 jars sitting on the table with one turning colors much faster than the other? Please tell me you're color blind, sir... Sorry, not to sound mean or rude or anything, but the evidence is right there in front of you; plus John is describing it. I'm really interested in knowing where people are coming from sometimes (possibly a troll?)... The difference is the BLENDING in air (specifically oxygen in air). The fast action of mixing food with air creates MORE damage vs normal air contact.

Hi John. Was waiting for this video for a while now. You make the very best video reviews. I must say I was a bit disappointed by the macademia nut butter performance in this blender. Especially when compared to DynaPro which made it look like a breeze and did all the job without any interaction. It's nice Kuvings is automatic but you still need the time for the air to get sucked out. Wonder how long it takes to do it manually and if it's actually not even better for you to do a little bit of pumping as you're waiting anyway. I would love to order from you, however I'm based in Poland so sorry I can't support you by ordering from discountjuicers.com. The dynapro easily handled the macadamia nuts due to the larger carafe size which allowed the nuts to get processed easier. That being said, the kuvings actually did a better job grinding them to a better texture with less chunks. Also the larger carafe takes longer to suck the extra air out of. I will try to make the comparison soon, but tribest is coming out with an upgraded more powerful automatic pump for their blender, that I hope to include.

ANOTHER great video! Thank you. If I'm going to both drink greens and smoothies...do I need both Omega VERT VSJ843S (as an example) AND this blender? I'm new to juicing/blending. I understand it's best to use both a juicer and a blender if want smoothies/fruit drinks so I will take in fiber with juice so not to drink straight sugar and bang up my insulin. But, this blender seems to do such an amazing job of blending...it almost seems like it 'juices' it...although it still has the fiber/pulp I guess. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Hi Adam, each a slow juicer and vacuum blender have their own place in a healthy kitchen. They are the top 2 healthy kitchen appliances someone should own. I use a slow juicer VSJ843 and My Kuvings Vacuum Blender BOTH during my day. I usually like to juice my greens and vegetables and blend my fruits. I will also vacuum blend salad dressings and soups. They EACH have their own set of pros and cons. Overall, I would say purchase the one FIRST that you will use most. Then use it. Then when you are able, get the other. If it were me, I would get the slow juicer FIRST as eating more vegetables is extremely important in my opinion, and the juicer BUT NOT the blender allows you to easily concentrate the nutrients in vegetables which are being neglected from most peoples diets. I hope to make a specific video on this topic soon to help people.

John - Could you please obtain a vacuum gauge, and place it in the carafe, and perform this same experiment with all of the other vacuum options that you have (ie vacuum pump, silicon lid, etc.) It’s the only way to get a true comparison test. Just use water, and use the same amount in each carafe for consistency. Maybe even perform the tests twice with each carafe wherein you use different amounts of water (like 2 cups, And 4 cups). I suspect the more water you use, the easier it is to get a better vacuum. Thanks!

On second thought, don’t add any liquid, because it will get inside your vacuum gauge. Just measure the vacuum with nothing added to the carafe. And the silicon lid method won’t create any vacuum because it just displaces the air (which is still a good thing, but I don’t think that method creates vacuum like the air pumps do.)

John do you recommend this blender or are there some others coming out that you think it might be better to wait for? $650 with 3 years less warranty than a vitamix and they don't even include the tamper doesn't sit too well with me....

That's a good question. I know some other vacuum blenders are announced and should be out later this year. I personally wish this blender was priced better and had a longer warranty myself. I also wish they INCLUDED the tamper with the unit! I will only know the true answer when I get to test/see the new blenders and compare their price/specs, etc. I can say at present time, the Kuvings Vacuum blender is the best one I have tested to date that is now available.

In this episode, I did the two step approach, first pressing vacuum then pressing the blend button. You can also just press the one touch button (middle) that will automatically vacuum and blend.

Is it possible to get more vacuum by pressing the vacuum button more than once? If so, do you recommend doing that?

No. I believe it pulls maximum vacuum once it stops. If you run it again, it will not pull more vacuum.

Ok, I wonder do you know if the machine knows when it's under vacuum or if it simply doesn't vacuum again after you've hit the button once? There certainly seems to maybe be a reset at least after the cover and carafe are removed from the base. So, if that's the case, then I'm wondering is it possible to place back without releasing the vacuum and then hit the button for possibly more vacuum? I have the Dynapro from you, and I can use the food saver accessory with the Dynapro hose and vacuum piece to continue sucking out more air by continuing to hit the vacuum button for what seems to be non-stop. A convenient way to use the Dynapro as long as you don't have a liquid sitting at the top of your blend, close to the lid that can get sucked through (always leave a little extra space due to the expansion). p.s. Happy New Year to you! I personally am looking forward to see what new innovations or improvements are possibly to come this year in juicers, vacuum blenders, and other cool kitchen appliances that make it even easier and better to allow consuming more fresh fruits and veggies. While you can press the vacuum button on the Kuvings multiple times, I do not believe it will pull any more significant vacuum. I have also used a manual pump on the Kuvings, which is much faster than the automatic built-in pump

Thanks for replying! You've definitely answered my question about this... and I'm glad to know that if a person wants to, they can use the Kuvings normal vacuum function, then right after they can use a manual pump or maybe a food saver accessory to suck out more air just like the Dynapro after using the battery operated, hand pump. This puts both machines on an even level for me when it comes to sucking out as much air as possible, but with the edge going to Kuvings due to the convenience of a built-in vacuum.

This is the first I have heard about that one. Looks like the "knock off Vacuum Blenders" from China are now coming! This is great news to create further education about vacuum blenders with the general public. Each vacuum blender will have its own set of pros and cons. On the DASH-800, it only has a 1 year warranty, so its "disposable". There are more things to go wrong with a Vaccum blender than normal blenders. I hope to get one to do further testing.

Both Vacuum Blending vs Slow juicer each have their own pros and cons. If I had to choose one, I would choose juicing. That being said, I use my slow juicer and vacuum blender every day.. I usually slow juice for breakfast, and end up using the vaccum blender for dinner. They have had no announcements. I have serious doubts they will get into vacuum blending. They are more a "traditional" company in my opinion, and haven't really innovated in recent years aside from minor tweaks to their machines.

From what I am aware, there are no published journal studies yet. There is only manufacturer testing data from multiple sources to show nutritional content. To me it makes sense even without studies, because we can clearly see for ourselves that oxidation is an early stage of decay. Once it decays enough, it's only suitable for plant food and not for human consumption. Plus, it tastes better before it oxidizes, which is our body's way of telling us through our taste buds that we're getting better nutrition by eating food with little or no oxidation.

There aren’t any studies. It’s a nice Blender but not necessary for healing purposes. Either one of the apple smoothies would do the trick. Many people have been healed by keeping it simple. Don’t let your smoothie sit. Drink it immediately after blending. Let the healing continue.

I've made the $525 purchase after watching your video back in May 2017 last year and at the time they were supposed to ship the juicer in July/August ... and they postpone and delayed the shipping? ... they have not responded to any of my email requesting for shipping status ... are they still around? Will we the early investors lose our $525 investment?

Thats a good question. I have heard noting from Leo since early last year. I will be going to CES 2018 and hopefully I will see him there? It seems to me that they are "stalling" and/or having design/production challenges with the machine. I am still waiting for my machine myself! If I was you, I would probably request a refund.
