If I could only have one for whatever reason, I would choose the blender. You can always blend your fruits and veggies then strain it to get out the juice. You can also place the pulp in a nut milk bag and squeezer more juice out of the pulp. Ultimately though, I want both! I use fresh juice, carrot and apple, in place of water when I make smoothies. So good! Live your videos John, I recommend others to watch them and refer them to your site. I bought a Tribest Solostar 4 from you as well! Juice on! Cheers!

Very informative, John! Thank you for taking the time to create and share your wonderful videos. Am going to purchase both products since we will be using them for juicing and blending. Should we not drink all of the juice from either the blender or the juicer and want to save it, what is the best product to store the left-over juice in? Is there a storage container that the air can be extracted from?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 6 жыл бұрын
The Kuvings Vaccum Blender includes and extra to-go storage container that the vaccum can be sucked out of. I personally use wide mouth mason jars and a vacuum pump/lids to store juices in glass. www.thriftyvac.com/

Not a bad kit, John. But I think I would rather use the foodsaver I have with it's accessory on existing mason jar lids. You can get it from walmart and and get a foodsaver jar sealer online. Here is the wide mouth: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00005TN7H/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1515974315&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=foodsaver+mason+jar+sealer&dpPl=1&dpID=51b0i952XTL&ref=plSrch It will pay for itself in short time in food storage. It's worth investing a little over $100 for the stuff... No need to buy more lids; just the bags if you want to...

Hardly related to the topic, but what I'd like to find is a vacuum chamber to evaporate sap to make raw syrup, and other dried goods. If you remember from science class as you remove pressure you can evaporate water at a lower temperature. Though, I don't know the effects of low pressure environment on enzymes or other chemicals.

I purchased the OmegaVSJ843 based on your videos and although I love the juicer I am surprised as to how much pulp I get in my juice. I am feeding slowly (no backups) and following all of your recommendations including alternating hard and soft but I get a fair amount of pulp. You did say that this juicer has the least amount of pulp for vertical slow juicers so I was expecting a cleaner juice.I've been juicing carrot, beets, apples, greens etc. Is something wrong?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 6 жыл бұрын
Apples can produce alot of pulp if they are old, so ensure you are getting nice and firm (not mushy apples). The VSJ843 does put the least pulp of any vertical I have tested, but generally, vertical juicers as a whole put more pulp in the juice than other types of juicers. I recommend straining.

Hi John!! Could you do one comparison between two models that are the best commercial juicers at this time?. I am looking for an excellent model to commercial use, thanks so much! I love your videos. I want to open a little juice bar that offer juice, smoothies, desserts, ice-cream, etc. Maybe I am thinking that a good combination could be one vertical with an horizontal slow juicer. The first one could be a VSJ843RS Omega, but in horizontal side I cannot decide about it, what do you recommend?

John I thought you said you use the new nutramilk for nut milks. Do those oxidize the milks or something?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Terrell, Nut milks are not a "staple" in my diet. (Fresh Juices Are) So I do not often make them. I might make them 2-3 times a month, personally. I have used the nutramilk to make nutmilks in the video, but haven't used it since. I like it for making really nice nut butters, personally. That being said, yes, there is alot of blade movement in the nutramilk, and oxidation. I prefer the vacuum blender and slow juicer combo to make nut milks when I make them. My combination may not make as a "creamy" mixture as the nutramilk, but I prefer the slower (less oxidation) process. I think each appliance has their own place in peoples lives and if the Nutramilk excites you and you drink lots of nut milk, its a sure lot easier than using a juicer and blender with less parts to clean.

John please can you tell me your opinion as an expert on which would be better between GreenStar Pro vs Angel 5500, I really want to get a good machine and start juicing regularly, I narrowed it down to these two I mentioned above, not getting anything else. Please man.
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 6 жыл бұрын
Between the two, I would get the Green Star Pro with 15 year warranty, which is 2x and 3x longer. It is also 1/2 the price. I would spend the other half of the money to start a garden so I could grow my own produce. Yield on the Angel will not be 2x the Yield of the Green Star Pro

Im personally not a fan of a "true" masticating juicer, such as the Champion, personally. That being said many call their juicers "masticating" when in my opinion, they are not. I prefer the term slow juicers. I share my opinions on all the different types of juicers and explain them fairly well in the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGG3gGt5m6lgfbs

Well, crap! You got me all excited about the Kuvings Whole Slow Juicer Elite C7000 during your visit to a tradeshow in Japan in October or November, so I ordered one as soon as it became available in the states. Now, only 5 weeks and 2 days after I received the highly recommended Kuvings...C7000 juicer which, BTW, I purchased to replace my Tribest Vertical Slow Juicer, you tell us that the Omega VSJ843 Cold Press Slow Juicer is your personal favorite! This makes me feel like I got "stuck" with an inferior juicer! I already set aside my Tribest VSJ to make way for the Kuvings. If I continue to watch your comparison tests, I'm gonna end up with a used appliance garage! Make up my mind and be done with these comparisons. Oh, and I DO plan to replace my Blendtec with the Kuvings...SV500, until you find something better. :D

Hi Rick. Each one of my videos I share my experiences with the machines. When I first got the C7000 for a few vidoes, I was really liking it, until I got to use it more, and although its still a great juicer for some, I ended up going back to my VSJ843 as it is best for my needs. This video I compare the top 3 vertical juicers: VSJ843, Slowstar and C7000 and as I show, each have their own pros and cons: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2XMopJui9eUiqs I also share my favorite juicer in that episode. When I find a better vacuum blender (or juicer) than these, I will be sure to be using those.

Is it true that the nutrients are all in the juices of the plant or fruit? The rest is fiber right? With a juicer, the only thing that it eliminates is fiber and keep all the nutrients right? That’s what I’m most concern about is the nutrients
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 6 жыл бұрын
I'm sure nutrients are dispersed throughout plants in its different cells. No appliance can get 100% of nutrients out of these foods. Except maybe our mouth! Check each mouthful at low rpm into a mush and swallow, and provided you have a good digestive system (with proper microbes) you can absorb more nutrients. That being said, every way we process food, even in a juicer or vacuum blender, some nutrients can be lost. How much depends on the food, how the food is being processed and the nutrient (some are more sensitive than others). The juicer can help liberate the nutrients from the fiber so our body can better absorb the nutrients in foods. The vacuum blender minimizes nutrient loss (due to removal of air) and makes nutrients more available by breaking up the fiber. The freeze dryer preserves the most nutrients if you want to dry food. Choose the method that works best for you and your lifestyle, there are no "magic bullets" in life, but we can always improve in our lives. Im glad these kitchen appliances allow us to eat more of the healthiest foods on the planet: Leafy Greens, Herbs, Vegetables and Fruits.

What brand of Coconut water do you recommend?? OR is there a way you can juice the coconut meat once you crack it open?? Many Thanks God Bless
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 6 жыл бұрын
The best coconut water is the one right out of a fresh coconut. I prefer white mexican coconuts these days. For packaged coconut waters:The Harmless Harvest brand (or other HPP brands) are my first pick, because they are not heat pasteurized but they can get expensive! The Taste Nirvana in glass bottles is one of the best, but its expensive. Other than that the Obrigad brand from Brazil has the "authentic" flavor of "too young" young coconuts with little sweetness for those that prefer that. For the least expensive 100% (no additives) Zico Coconut water in 1 liter tetrapaks at Costco is probably your best bet.

The best packaged coconut water I have tasted is the C2O brand, which I learned from John's videos, and the Taste Nirvana. I tried the Harmless brand once, thinking it looked a lot like C2O... I hoped it would taste similar, but I didn't like it. Could not finish it. Maybe it was a bad one in the bunch or everyone's tastebuds are different... But coconut water always tastes best from any type of coconut compared to pre packaged (assuming it's not a bad coconut). John's right though, the white coconut is probably tops as well as I would say the Thai coconut so long as your not worried about the preservation used seeping inside, which I don't believe does with both husk and shell as barrier.

Why you do not add some water to blender to get better taste ? In any smoothie you need some water or ice to get drinkable smoothie , If you use blender like that this means that you do not know how to use blender or you just push juicers to the top .
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 6 жыл бұрын
Water does NOT need to be added to smoothies to get better flavor provided your recipe is well balanced. Water or ice is added to smoothies to ensure there is enough liquid for the blender to blend and create texture. As I mention in this episode, I prefer NOT to add plain water, as I could be adding more fruits or vegetables that have the BEST water on earth - structured and filtered by the plant and contains vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals water does not. I will also use fresh made juice as the liquid in my smoothie as well. If I need to use water, I will use coconut water, which is structured water with minerals by the coconut palm tree.

Vacuum blender has one problem, it will suck grease from bearings into your green smoothie, even they claim bearings is sealed

On a properly designed vacuum blender, this should not be an issue. Of course on inexpensive "knock-off" machines from China, I would be concerned.

It's doesn't matter, all use the same high speed "sealed" China made bearings, even Vitamix. Fill it with clear water, press for vacuum, and see how little bubbles come up from the bottom of container. Thanks for reply.

I have put water in a mason jar (with no bearings) and sucked out the extra air, and there is STILL air bubbles coming up. So in blender carafes its possible its the water and/or leakage thru the bearings.
