I remember when KVD first started fishing professionally, he’s just a couple years older than me. Back in that time going pro wasn’t common for someone his age. He was surrounded by mostly southern, older anglers. Me being in Indiana loved that the young northerner had no problem competing with and beating the good ol boys. His demeanor, is partly what makes him so great. He’s not easily rattled and confident but not cocky. It’s awesome, that after all his accomplishments, he’s still humble and down to earth. I’ve always said the best fishing trip ever would be tagging along with KVD and Mark Zona for a day. Talk about a good time!! Thank you, sir, for sharing this great video/content.

Learning the FG knot was certainly a task, but well worth it. I pretty much only throw braid with a leader and it is such a great leader knot. Great vid as always.
@zayg0625 ай бұрын
Are you suppose to make leaders from scratch or buy them ? And if I don't use a leader do you think I'll miss out on catches ? Do you think the fish can see the braid?
@dontnonowuno99535 ай бұрын
@@zayg062braid is fine in dirty water, go mono or fluoro in cleaner water.If the lake has grass ,no matter how clear the water,braid is preferred for me.Lots of videos on connection knots on you tube.
@jpgtr845 ай бұрын
@@zayg062 for bass fishing you can do what I do and go the inexpensive route and buy a decent spool of fluorocarbon line, like Seaguar Red Label and use that as leader like. There is specific leader line formulas, it's different than castable line, so they say, but I'm not going to spend money on that. I usually use Fluro leader since it sinks, unlike Mono or braid, which floats. If I am fishing straight braid I'm usually throwing a frog, so I'm not too worried if a fish sees the line.
