I've always wanted to try this foundation as someone with oily skin but it's cakey mess! It's great to come across someone who doesn't have perfect skin and tries the foundation over multiple days instead of trying it once and claiming it's amazing! Have you done reviews on the Lancome Teinte Idole Ultra Wear foundation or the Too Faced Born This Way Matte foundation yet?

She didnt prep the skin for foundation. Its going to look horrible. She needs a mattifying moisturizer or a moisturizing chemical sunscreen under it. Something like Paulas Choice skin balancing spf 30 or their Youth Extending spf 50 fluid which are great for oily acne prone skin, the first one being the most matte. And then setting powder. She cant skip the powder because of her skin type unless she doesnt mind it fading away.

When you apply a good amount it covers your hyperpigmentation. Try applying a thin layer all over the face, then applying more only on the hyperpigmentation and only blending the edges of that with a brush/sponge, then setting it very well. Dont put the brush on top of where the hyperpigmentation is or you will lose the coverage and have to add more and more layers. Though of course what we see on camera is different from what you see. So of course i cant be sure.

I love this foundation on my combo skin as long as I have a good silicone base to help it blend. This foundation offers the most coverage of any foundation I have used. Otherwise I enjoy Good Apple foundation, NOT the serum foundation-much too drying. I pair it with lisnoirskincare Vitamin C lotion. It doubles as a primer and saves me money.

The foundation shades were too light for you. You should have gone at least two more shade darker than the #62. The reason the hyperpigmentation was not completely concealed is because using a shade too light will allow the darker skin color to show through.

Foundation needs to go on top of moisturizer or a moisturizing sunscreen. Some sort of hydrayor at the very least or it wont look as smooth as possible. I don't see why you try it with nothing.🤔 it will grab onto skin texture a lot.

She tests foundation this way first then on top of skin prep primer and moisturiser. I think it gives better idea of how the foundation is actually performing on bare skin.

@@flobanne2155 Foundation isnt designed to go on bare skin. It makes the suspended pigments catch excessively on skin texture. Having product there (serum/moisturizer) softens the surface of cells (less texture) and allows the foundation layer to distribute evenly. Its fun to see what happens to makeup when you dont prep the skin for it, but theres no point besides entertainment for that in a makeup review, unless it's a tinted moisturizer, or moisturizing foundation.

Foundations were supposed to be applied on bare skin until recently(like a decade or so) they developed additional steps and products to cater to every skin type like people with oily skin or ultra dry skin can enjoy makeup as well. I myself have normal to dry skin so i cant use matte foundations even with a primer. I get your point here and i think it is fun to test makeup like this, so yes : ).

It didn't cover your pigmentation because i think that is not the right shade for you? It's too yellow. You will benefit more with deep undertone foundation. With the right shade you will have no issue to cover up the pigmentation. Edit: it oxidize demmit! i think maybe that's why Sephora suggested this shade on you.
