Wow! God Bless you and Mary protect you! You are such an inspiring teacher. I love how you were so humble and took your time to break things down from base 1 to me. Some people like crash course are just horrible at doing a good job at teaching, to them its a speed competition. You are smart, dedicated, humble and awesome! You explained this concept so good. We are in need of your channel because you are actually explaining the concept behind the calculations. Once students learn the meaning of something its no longer forced learning. Thank Your Sir!

Why does that assumption matter so much? When calculating Kc are we assuming that the concentrations of H and OH- have a negligible increase since [H20] has a negligible decrease?

Hi, I want to ask. Why is PH = - log [H+] and not - log [OH-]
@dollsfunandaestheticgirl5113 жыл бұрын
PH =-log [H+] for acids POH =-log[OH-] for bases

Thanks! i have a question... Is Kw consistent as 10*-14 in 25° only, or will it change by changing the temperature?
@tonystarkdeservedbetter Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry for answering this 2 years later but I hope this can still help you or anyone else. The reaction H20 - - - - - > H+ + OH- is an endothermic reaction therefore when temperature increases the equilibrium shifts to the right hence the concentration of the products increases. as kw is directly proportional to the concentration of the products it will also increase. So basically although it's a constant it will vary with temperature, an increase in temperature will increase the value of kw and a decrease in temperature will decrease the value of kw. Hope this helps :)
