I am in China where these machines are everywhere and sometimes when I wear hats or glasses, it fails to recognize my face. Also when places are dimly lit as a black person, it’s sometimes a big difficult as well. These are machines, not humans. They are not perfect. Even when you are registering your profile here in Canada u are required to use facial biometrics features which prompt you to take off your glasses or hat prior to capturing. Kindly learn.

This is a computer vision system. Once it detect multiple faces, the bounding boxes will show two people instead of one. Hence, it won’t open. That is why, in the western part, nobody stands behind you during this process. Ghana is doing great!

Sheldon, I cant rule out what you're saying concerning people in the background confusing the AI. That may be at best what is happening. But the truth is, a well-engineered algorithm should get past that problem. AI works by training on data across several scenarios. So the "people in the background" scenario could have been a training point to improve the accuracy. The idea is in picking the face closest to the camera based on some calculations. For something on a national scale I was hoping scenarios like this had been already considered but, if not AI can be programmed to improve over time. And that depends on the nature of our maintenance culture.
