real talk. i get discouraged when i see someone call a great defender a trash player. defense wins championships. Offense wins games, but you gotta have somebody that can make them have to change their offense up. That's why Kevin Durant is so underrated. He's lowkey one of the best Iso defenders in the entire league and that alone means that the opposing team can't just auto rely on their number 1 player at the end of games. Kwame was locking up a hall of famer in this game. That man deserved his way more respect and way more money than he got. If he was drafted today, he would be a max center with today's league and todays coaches.

Man watching these old highlights of Kwame I use to have high hope for him coming straight out of high school. The same way the Lakers and yes Kobe did them young players (Clarkson, Randle, Ingram, and Russell) the same way I felt about how Jordan did him. Neither of them took these young players under their wing and really push them, mentor them, especially Jordan..Kobe's last year I use to say "Kobe dude your game isn't there, teach them young players how to play, and just take a back seat, but I know this is Kobe we're talking about. Then comes Lebron..(keep in mind a few of them needed a male guidance)

The bad luck of Kwame Brown was to be selected #1 at the NBA draft. Then people started expecting him to live up on that rank.Had him been selected let us say in the second round and been let alone to improve his game in his pace he could have become a good center like Jermaine O'Neal .

@@landonbowling6677 Phil's ability to judge talent has nothing to do with 1vs1. He didn't say Kwame was a God, he said he was beating top guys in 1 on 1 games, which isn't improbable, considering similar stories about other players (see: Micheal Beasley).

I feel bad for Kwame because I read about his past, however, if you're going to play for the Lakers, you better be improving every year. If you listen to this man's story and realize that he was a teenager when he went to the NBA you'll realize that everyone expected things from him when they had no idea of who he was, where he was mentally, and what he needed. His back story is sad, tough but inspiring. He went through a lot to get to where he was and the the NBA, Jordan and others ruined him. To expect a teenager, no matter how good he is/was, to expect a teenager to become an adult, be professional, be mature in a blink of an eye is beyond stupid and was a great disservice to Kwame. Stephen A comes to mind, he's a piece of garbage.
