Media tore this kid apart. Glad he is defending himself!
@anthonycelestin35593 жыл бұрын
Hope Markelle Fultz overcomes that burden of the #1 pick, he can rehab that knee & come back stronger. There’s too much criticism of NBA players in general, the media doesn’t scrutinize athletes in other sports the same way as the NBA. There’s too many narratives about players too & the media contradict themselves constantly. The narrative is that Harden is a selfish statpadding ball hog that can’t play with no one but now he’s on BK it’s an unstoppable superteam & unfair. Certain things just don’t make sense anymore. Media has to do a better job marketing the players. I think the ratings & viewerships have gone down in the NBA recently cause fans care less about the true beauty of the game by watching the game & understanding it & care more about narratives of the game. And media influence the fans to feed into this mindset as well. Not gonna lie I fall victim to this narrative. I have a narrative that Giannis is the most overrated player of all time & I feel his style of play is not a championship style if he’s the #1 option on a team. I feel Giannis is a borderline top 10 player who’s exactly #10 on my list, I got Bron, Harden, AD, Curry, Embiid, Jokic, Butler, KD & CP3. Even wit how I feel bout Giannis, it can’t be overshadowed that Giannis is a great player regardless of the flaws in his game & I should appreciate his greatness cause he is a great player & has a chance to be an all time great if he improves his game. Sometimes certain players get driven so much by narrative that guys try to erase a player’s whole resume saying stuff like Westbrook is a losing player but act like he wasn’t in the Finals in 2012 vs the Heat. Fans & media will say but Russ had KD but at the same time the fans & media say KD isn’t a leader & with Russ being the Alpha he needs to get more credit for OKC success, it can’t just all on KD getting credit cause he got flaws too despite his greatness, what’s fair is fair. Fans & media should try to understand the game of bball & appreciate it, there’s a lack of appreciation of the game with all the hot takes & narratives

@@anthonycelestin3559 Some of the individual media personalities are too busy trying to build a personal audience by way of their bombastic spewing of their “opinions” to be concerned with actually consistently showing any integrity. The format dictates that you have opposing opinions to simulate a debate and more often than not the personalities don’t actually believe in their “assigned” argument. They just have to give the audience the impression that they will die on their sword defending it. This creates an air of insincerity and makes for grand theater that is really not to be taken seriously in most cases. I find the personalities on the NBA channel to authentic and fact based especially Steve Smith and Grant Hill. Still you can occasionally find well thought out analysis among the various sports networks and KZbin channels.

@@anthonycelestin3559 they can't do this without the fans. The fans quit watching and the media has know choice but to change. Kwame was not a bum. People need to realize he came to the NBA straight out of high school. Played the center position when the NBA still had good/great physical centers. Should he have taken a more mature route and attended college for at least two years? In hindsight, of course. But folks, please realize that as a 17, 18 year old young man with the promise of making millions of dollars, 9 out of 10 people would have done the same thing. Also, remember this was MJ's personal, hand selected pick. In the basketball world, that carries weight. His numbers were decent throughout his career. Now when people don't like you and want your spot, they will stop at nothing to tear you down, like talking smack about you behind your back to make you look weak. That's in all walks of life. Profesional sports, wall street, law enforcement, Hollywood. You name the arena, haters are going to hate. Kwame, hope you are doing well in life, invested well and are in a good place surrounded by familly and real friends that trully care for you. Take care my brother.
@AP90x5 жыл бұрын
mightymacdiesal12 bro im late but that thing you said about him taking a mature route going to college, is kind of tricky. There are projections where these players will fall come draft night, if all the analyst, all the scouts are telling a 18 year old kid that he is projected to go top 3 in the draft, there isnt anybody in the world that would risk going to college and getting injured. Now if the recruiters and scouts was saying he would be a late second rounder then thats when u have to say to yourself “let me go to college to develop”. But everybody in the world basketball professionals told him he was ready.

It wasn't Bennett's fault to be honest. He doesn't deserve nor expected to be the no.1 overall pick. Most draft boards didn't even place him in the top 5. The dude was a project player who could had been a poor version of Draymond Green. Too bad he never got the opportunity to show what he got.
@iAmpedrosilva7 жыл бұрын
Connecting_Link what are you saying? He got plenty of opportunities. The Cavs let him heal from his injuries to see what he got but he came back and didn't shit. Also the Raptors brought him in the team and again he was trash.
@module157 жыл бұрын
what opportunity? That dude never started a game in his whole life. Kwame was plain bad when he first came but the wizards started him anyway and gave him minutes which he used to slightly improve his game. Bennet on the other hand got no action whatsoever. He was on the floor 5-10 min at most when he was with the Cavs. The Raps screwed his career the most. They relegated him in the dleague and never gave him any minutes when he was with the main team. Its just terrible how the NBA today has become a boom or bust for young players.

He went through what a number one draft pick goes through. He’s Legend for surviving and being talked about how many other people would want to last 12 years in the league and make 70 million. Exactly. 99% of people don’t come close. Salute Kwame
@leweiwang32096 жыл бұрын
average NBA player can only play 4 years in the league, he survived for 11 so he deserves to play there. also, he sounds more intelligent than we thought from the image from media.

He stuck around for 13 years because he is 7 feet. If he was drafted today with his skill set he wouldn’t last long at all. Back then being 7 foot meant something.

His game didn’t develop into what we expected but by the way he talked, you can see that he’s a decent, smart and educated human being. This guy is hurt and finally letting out everything. Imagine yourself into his situation How would y’all feel?
@TooBadAboutit3 жыл бұрын
He's not hurt though. Why is it when some breaks their silence to defend themselves it means "they are hurt"? WTF
@duchessngy84543 жыл бұрын
Those who actually know basketball know that defenders are not expected to score many points. What he was doing on field of play was bigger than points. Shaq couldn't even score whenever he played against him. Go watch the videos. Defenders statistics are not in numbers

People say some harsh things about Kwame Brown but at the end of the day he carved out a 12 year career in the NBA, having never gone to Europe or the D-League, and made 64 Million dollars in the league. I don't call that a scrub of a career. Falling way short of #1 pick expectations? Absolutely, but he's a success at my life going by numbers that really matter.
