Kwame and A New Beginning created something special with this track, the dance floors of that time at the NCO Club on Fort Dix, NJ were jam-packed with this cut, well arranged, the horn section sounds real even though I'm sure played with a sampler/synth, then ending with what sounds like a real trombone. To this day I remember the excitement on the dance floor with the beginning of the 2nd Verse @ 1:34; Kwame's delivery is crisp and clear, and Tasha's Vocals, forget about it!!! Lastly, the great sample-groove is from Bobby Byrd's "I Know You Got Soul"

The composition of this song is amazing. Ahead of its time by decades. I was in third or fourth grade when I heard this song for the first time while riding in the backseat of my dad’s car in Louisville, Kentucky! I remember that day like it was yesterday. A dj was doing a Saturday night mix on an urban radio station and played Ownlee Eue. I was blown away then and i am still blown away over 30 years later. i also had a crush on Kwame lol

Lol 😊. I guess we're showing how much older we all are now. They just don't make them like this anymore. Big, big instant floor filler.

If you laying down, you're gonna get your ass up! Thank God I was raised in the 80's. I remember watching this video and hearing this song for the first time. It still hits me the same. One of the many 80's classics! I remember dancing to this song at my middle school year end party. My kids find it weird that I can't listen to a single one of their songs. How can I, when I had real music like this to listen to.

Man, I am so glad that I was a child of the 80's! I believe we were the last generation to grow up values. This was back when you dance to music freely, dress as an individual, walk to the corner store to buy pickles/ice-e, Now and Laters and not worry about getting shot. I am used to dance to this every Friday while my Mom/Aunts/Uncles would play Quarters, domino's, spades!! #MEMORIES

You captured it quite well! As a kid then, u could lunch 4 $1 cuz that would buy u chips, a drink, & candy from the corner store!
