I remember NY looking like this. A gritty yet rich in character look. Steam pumping out of the streets at night and opened fire hydrants pouring down the avenues on hot days. Chasing the song of Mr. Softee drawing nearer on a summer afternoon. Stick ball in the projects, hearing songs like this playing in the back ground of cars passing by. Graffiti covered trains and army’s of pigeons in the parks. Old timers sitting patiently at the concrete chess tables concealed by the shade of the trees. Amazing times that will only live as the fondest yet simplest memories.

@andrejg41364 жыл бұрын
That's because we can hear all of them, now. There was a definite gate keeper effect back then. Now anyone with a recorder and an internet collection has a Soundcloud. That means you're going to find hidden gems, but you are also get a TON of trash. Same as it ever was in this internet age.
@RocStarr9133 жыл бұрын
@@andrejg4136 Because back then, record labels were how people’s music was released. Like you said, now anybody can record and publicly release their music for free on the Internet. It’s inevitably lowered standards for music when it’s that easy because it creates such a glut of product.

I loved the melody the words its was different than all the rest to me it stood out! not only will this kind of music ever be replaced but neither will actually having the real pleasures in life that were simple .you went out and actually met people face to face shared um idk many things that you just don't do today just like they said back in those days man will control computers and later on if we are not careful computers will control man . and it did it took away from every single little thing that was real and fun ...so No is my answer this kind of music will never ever be replaced. just my 2 cents...

The independent record label they were on at the time didn’t like it and had it just sitting on the shelf. Some music producer found it over there and submitted to CBS Records for a compilation album they were going to release to capitalize on the breakdancing craze and that’s how CBS Records ultimately signed Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam and Full Force in the first place.
