I know this comment is old but it made clear sense to me. Taking love higher and having trust issues, that is my interpretation of the the words of the song correlating to the video. If you pay attention to the words along with the fighting, loving, fighting, loving -- many times in relationships with questionable trust and couples who want to take it higher, things get hard, unclear emotions, complicated feelings, misunderstandings, and arguments can ensue but deep down both people want to take it "higher" :)
