I love how the asset tools can be used from ingame and affect the world in real-time. It almost makes me wonder if Hytale will use chat commands like in Minecraft, or if it will opt for some kind of pop-out GUI for server owners and map makers to quickly change things on the fly. Also, I like to believe they shoot all the footage with the cinematic features built into the game, and I hope we get a devlog one day on the cinematic capabilities of Hytale since it has been touched on very little so far.

I believe they will opt for both, as there's always a use case for one or the other, moreso for enthusiasts that prefer to use commands rather than a GUI because they are usually straightforward. Some tools may prefer GUI while some may prefer CLI. This will probably extend to scripting where they will include a blocks version of the scripting engine for Hytale which is very useful for beginners and also cleaner. And they could take this further by implementing a GUI framework which is very useful for anyone to improve user experiences on their projects.

It is very exciting that the same biome in the same place can feel completely different depending on when you are exploring it. Hytale at this point is an experience. I remember seeing the original hytale trailer, and forgetting all about it. Later, in 2020, thirtyvirus would reintroduce me to the game. Ever since then, I have been watching every move the devs have made. I cheered while they made monthly updates...for a solid 3 months in a row. I was saddened when they revealed the delay till 2023. I want to believe the game will be bad. That is the easy option, I could leave the community and ignore the game. But, every time an update happens, I believe. The fact that riot games believes in it, forces me to believe. Riot is currently desperately trying to expand into a multimedia company. Every single move they make is for money. Arcane would not look as fucking beautiful as it does without that motive. All that tells me is that hytale will be something special. If it wouldn't be, riot would not be putting its weight behind it. Riot would not have authorised the delay till 2023. If it was just great, riot would have rushed it, with a 2021 release and an update timeline for the next few years till the game would truly have released. No matter how hard I try, I cannot stop thinking of this game. I am fully willing to wait years. Even if a good portion of those years are spent thinking, wondering what I could be doing in hytale, knowing that it will be coming...it is comforting, in a fucked up backwards way. It could be 5 years away, but seeing this over the horizon would still be comforting. I wonder what I could do with hytale. Everyone has plans, what they will be doing with hytale. My plans for an rpg with a vague fallout style is only a small part of that. Just, everything with this game is exciting. I am willing to wait a couple extra years.

the more footage i see the more excited i get for hytale. such as the combat, its cool seeing how each player uses their weapons and speculating the little details about each weapon, like i know theres a offhand which can be used for sheilds or a second dagger, but iit makes me the tiniest bit curious if you can mix and match weapons somehow, obviously you cant it with two handed weapons but what about something like a sword and a knive, would you have some sort of combo with that? where you have a slow heavy damage dealing swipe, then a fast strike shortly after? i dunno just the kind of stuff i like thinking about. then theres also teh forest scene, i like the atmosphere of that place and the mob we see in there aswell. ok rambling over, long story short, im excited for hytale and dont mind if they need to take yet another year...(i hope they dont lol) just hope the end product is worth it

I hope they add vehicles to this game too I seen the minecart used in the announcement trailer but it would be nice if they had like a steam train to help get around the area quicker or if you want to haul around gear or you want to store at a certain house you can or maybe a magical glider that can get you up to the Skylands something like that!

I don't know if you managed to see it but during the combat clip you can see how some of the blows were actually blocked and the players did not received any dmg. This will also be big part of the combat system - to know when to block and apparently you can do that without a shield.

I bet it's likely like some other games where blocking with a shield prevents most or all damage, and blocking with a weapon is less effective. Or if there are guard break mechanics then maybe shields are more stable

These abilities would really make combat worth practising and mastering and is not just click and shield like minecraft which kinda feels bland tbh. I really hope there is a grappler or something similar allowing you to jump to far away blocks and take on dungeons assassinating enemies without being seen like batman Arkham games.

One of my favorite games growing up and still kind of is, was Rayman Arena (or Rayman M) where you'd pick a character and race your friends or AI along a foot race track with obstacles, sliding slopes, and buttons that opened shortcuts. I can't wait for Hytale to come out so I can make it an official gamemode type instead of just a fun activity based on the honor system. I can add stuff like an infinite snowball to trigger buttons with, configure the default jump height, add in bounce pads or speed boosters. Oh the possibilities.

it would be cool for combat when playing for example sumo, right clicking your fists to block attacks and dodging movement like low crouching, crawlings, evading so you can auickly sprint to the side to evade combat attacks, it would be cool to have combat stuff like headshots that do bigger crit hits, hitting the legs with a crit can slightly slow you down, hitting crits on the arm making you swing your weapon slightly slower, even sliding under the leg to do a backstab to slow them down, this game has a lot of potential with combat, these are things I would love to see in Hytale Combat
