Kwik Fli III RC Plane Flies again after nearly 50 years.

Hello all, It all started a couple of years ago while at a swap meet in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was nearing the end of the meet and under a table was an old beat up fuselage for a Kwik Fli. The lady ending up giving the plane away to us in disrepair. The plane had a decal on it from 1972 and evidence that it had been flown multiple times. The fuselage was stripped,filled and sanded again. A new wing was built and the entire thing was recovered again. This video is of the maiden flights of the plane as well as some still photographs to document it. This plane is a survivor and next time don't be afraid of keeping something vintage in the air. The reward is a great accomplishment. The lady who gave the fuselage away, stated it was her fathers. I believe they had a tie to Zippkits. This video will be sent along to them to see the plane continuing to fly!!

Those old kits are just great fliers. Too bad builders are getting fewer all the time. Great restoration! We need more of that.

Thanks for posting this. Video! I love vintage aircraft and look for them being sold online. I enjoy fixing them up and flying them! I just fixed up and recovered a Carl Goldberg Falcon 56 Mark II it’s an oldie!

Thank you for sharing, brings up nice memories, this was my first low wing plane, OS 61 FSR engine, flown back in 1984. My father also did another version with swept wing. Great flying plane

Il avait un problème de "snaking" (la queue se dandinait). La solution me fut apportée par un ingénieur d'essai du Concorde...Abaisser la hauteur de la dérive et un raccordement entre celle-ci et le cockpit, un peu comme le Mustang mais en plus grand. Le résultat fut merveilleux et j'ai vraiment apprécié voler avec ce modèle. Merci pour votre partage !

Matthew, nice work, flying and landings. I was looking up info on a Taurus and ran into your construction video and left a lengthy comment and a couple of questions. In short, I still have my Taurus and Orbit 12 channel reed gear from when I built one with a lot of help from a mentor when I was 13 yrs old and I'm 70 now. If you have time, could you leave a response on your Taurus if yours we original kits or built from scratch or "short" kits. Obviously I've been away for a LONG time and could use some guidance.
