I want to learn and so far I'm excited I am writing all of your great instructions down in a special book. I hope I become a great jewelry maker. Can not wait to try it. New to all this. We just bought a claim and I found some nice size rocks with veins running through them. I hope this works to separate the gold from the rocks.

Thanks for this great video. I have the Kwik Kiln 1 which is great. I always watch to look for tips and really like the notch you put into the crucible. Two questions. (1) What does the flux do? I know you need it, just not sure what it does and why its a part of the process? (2) Roughly how long to you have to heat an oz or two of silver before pouring in terms of time? Thanks.

jimpublictube the flux helps pull impurities from the metal keeping it clean and close to pure.

Thank you for the great instructional videos! Questions: Someone told me to heat my placer gold and black sand mix for 1 hour. Is this really needed? 1 hour seems quite excessive. There isn't very much black sand, but a little. Also, after pouring, sometimes there is gold particles in the slag. What could be causing this? Do I need to use a carbon rod and mix the molten gold/slag while smelting?

Can you please tell me what material your kiln is sitting on. It looks like a plastic table but the crucible would melt through that, so what material should I use?

This was done with small gold pieces i assume from gold panning or? My question is can you use old jewellery and melt it in the same way or is there a special process for jewellery? I also heard you need to keep 14K with 14k and 10K with 10K when melting jewellery is that true?

Find us on Ebay or Amazon. Watch out for cheap imitations such as pro-kiln or fast furnace. Look for Kwik Kiln by gpk company or goldkilns usa.
