Thank you. I bought one recently. I couldn't finish installing it without your video. The cable that connects the keypad to the battery pack is very finnicky. You have to line it up and connect it perfectly, or it won't work. Otherwise, it's a good lock.

hello I have two queries, 1- look on the internet, and it seems that the lock has a default code 1234 which lets you open the lock I would like to know if it is true and if that code can be eliminated 2- How do I reset the lock to delete all the codes? Another great informative video. My question is why did this lock only receive a grade 3 rating, since it is one hundred percent bump and pick proof ? When I move to Vegas this Summer, I’ll be calling you to upgrade the locks on the house I buy for sure.

Hi John This is a very good question about the security rating... so in general security rating does not apply for how easy or difficult is to pick or bump the lock, it’s apply for other security testing such as durability, Material used, longevity of the lock, toughness, and latch length. When a specific lock stand under different type of testing the ANSI gives it The certification rating from Grade 3 to Grade 1, but in fact they do not test any of the locks for lock picking or bumping. In that case if they were considering doing that then it will change the concept of grading to a different score system. This specific Keyless Lock in this video Have nothing to do with Security for Lock picking or bumping, but only for Lock quality and durability in general to stand under forced entry for example. I hope that my answer help you to understand little bit more. I will be very happy to help you out when you move here to Las Vegas.

Overall it’s just a Grade 3 keypad Deadbolt so I don’t think it will survive under very cold condition for very long. If I were you I would look up other options that can actually hold under extreme temperature

Almost everything works, but after the door locked just by pressing the lock key without the code, the door unlocks. This means, no need for user code just press lock key from the outside, and the door opens. Please help.

It’s a grade 3 keypad so honestly it’s not a s strong lock at all at this point.

And what happens if batteries die or that transistor burns out and the whole lock dies. You are locked out of your house in a miserable rain?

If the battery just died you can use a 9 V battery on the outside keypad, it will give you an additional power to access the door. If the transistor burns out so at this point try another door to access the house by calling a locksmith and if you don’t have any other doors leading to your house so professional locksmith will be able to unlock the keypad for you by drilling the lock out

Try to reset the lock to the factory settings and try again. Maybe you did something wrong along the way and make sure follow the steps of the programming just like I did in the video - start at 11:00 Let me know how that works for you.

You need to determine first if it’s a left or right handed door and you need to program it to that keypad. Please follow the steps from 11:00

I have a Kwikset 905 keyless lock that was installed on the door of a storage room with no other access. I try the combination and all I get are 3 beeps. When I press the "Lock" button, I can hear the motor, but the deadbolt doesn't move. I need to have access to the room, but have no way of getting in, other than breaking down the door, and I really don't want to do that. How can I either unlock the unit, or remove it, even if I must destroy the lock?

Then you are in a big problem. Only if you have access to your property from a different door then you will be able to reset the lock and put a new code But if you don’t have any access and that door is your only way to get in so at this point we will have to break the lock and call a locksmith etc.

Deleting a User Code: 1. Press PROG button 2. You will hear 2 long beeps 3. Press 34 button 4. Press PROG button 5. You will hear 1 short beep 6. Enter the User Code you wish to delete 7. Press PROG button 8. You will hear 1 beep if successful. If unsuccessful, you will hear 3 short beeps. Repeat from step 1 slowly.

Kwikset = the worst thing that happened to a door , if lasts 2 years it will be a miracle . I drill failed kwikset locks at least once a week .
