I’m pretty sure the grenades are a ‘worms’ reference As the grenade passes the officers they say “CHECK YOSELF!” Which in the worms game is a thing they normally do when almost hit by grenades (well it’s mainly a scream but you get my point) and the bouncing SFX sounds familiar too (And the banana bomb is 100%)
