Hi and thanks glad you liked it! And also thanks for the question. Tires are Cooper Discoverer ATT 225/55 R17. And the lift kit was ordered from risingtuning.com. Other than that everything else is factory parts, shocks, springs ect.

Thank you for your video. I have a 2011 SKODA OCTAVIA II Combi (1Z5) 1.6 TDI 4x4 (138mm clearance) and I am planning to add some lift on it. Maybe you would be able to help me with some questions: 1. What are the mechanical differences related to the suspension from my model to the Scout? 2. On your build, the suspension replacement parts specs are original to the vehicle and the lift was only provided by the spacers from Rising Tuning, correct? 3. Were you able to align the vehicle to factory specs? Was there enough allowance to correct camber? What was your final camber adjustment values?

You are very welcome, and thank you for watching. We will certainly do our best to answer all we can. 1. The Scout variant has higher clearance from the factory which was, to our knowledge, done with just longer springs. The A-arms, CV's and drive shafts all look to be the same length. The Scout variant also has a steel bash plate under the engine rather than a plastic one and additional plastic trim. There should not be a whole lot of difference other wise as they are the same platform and essentially the same car. 2. Yes, that is correct. 3. For the rear we were able to get it back into factory spec as all three, camber, toe and caster can be separately adjusted. The front we got close to factory for the camber, off by so little that it didn't matter. The caster was also off factory but again not enough to affect driving. But if you want to get everything perfect than we suggest adjustable top hats for the front macpherson struts as the front essentially only has toe adjustments from the factory and quite limited camber adjustment. We didn't deem adjustable top hats necessary though. An additional note that the 30mm lift we put, in our experience, is the maximum the CV's and A-arms can take without extensive modifications after which it is not longer a bolt on solution. Hope this helps and you get a nice lift onto your car.

do not lift more than 1 inch) if more, the rear suspension will not work properly due to A-Arms angle

Thanks @JarloNikka, glad you liked the episode. Can recommend a lift, have loved it on the scout. Yes it needed a wheel alignment after the lift. Would say it's a must to do others you'll be going through tires very quickly.

Amazing video. Maybe try using a camera light, especially when taking a closer look at the suspension, it was hard to see the details. Other than that, great job!

Would you recommend to try this lift kit out on my 2WD Octavia? And how comfortable is it to ride like that high in the air? :D Also what's the tyre size of the final setup?

Well, unfortunately we do not have any experience with the 2WD Octavia and can not say whether it will work. Technically the suspension setups are the same on the 4WD and 2WD, so it could work. We'd advise you to ask the kit manufacturer for more. As for the ride, it is just as good as factory only higher, and did not effect comfort. 👌 There is a small increase in fuel consumption, about 2-5%, small price for better offroad capabilities. Tires are 225/55R17, Cooper Discoverer ATTs on wheels with 20mm ET. Some cutting of plastic in the front wheel arches needed to be done to accommodate the tire without scrapping but not much. Have thoroughly enjoyed the upgrade! 😃

Hi Steve and thanks for the question. The biggest tire we managed to fit without body modification (did need to trim the front bumper a little though) was Cooper Discoverer ATT 225/55 R17. And the lift kit was ordered from risingtuning.com.

Hi Craig, we put stock KYB shocks and springs. The spacers are 33mm spacers from Rising Tuning. Everything has worked like a charm.

so the car is now 25cm lifted, but how will this affect the driving characteristics on normal roads ? 7cm extra is quite a lot

It has been find for regular on road driving. The 30mm lift hasn't caused any problems for the drive line either, CV's ect. have been fine.

Does Scout have underbody aluminium panels as protection? Searched everywhere online but no mention...🤔

2007 Scout has a steel protection plate in the front, which protects the engine and gearbox. It ends a little after the front tires. Rest of the underbody is not protected essentially at all, some thin aluminum heat shields and plastic covers. Thanks for the question, hope this helped. 👍

@@KovaExpedition Thanks for the quick reply, I have searched everywhere seems that many car reviewers missed this and talk only about damn enterior or new gadgets inside the car. For a car that can go partly off road this is a very important thing to have underneath the car. Factory steel plate at the front is great thing to have. I am looking for the new version of Scout.Hope it has the same steel plate. 👍

Could you give me part numbers of new shocks and springs? Kyb catalogue says RH2957 - front springs, RH6426 - rear springs, 335808 - front shocks, 344459 - rear shocks. I dont want to lose clearance with new suspension.

Hi, sorry I don't know the KYB factory part numbers, but the replacement parts on the video are the same as factory Skoda springs and shocks. So if the parts you have listed there are for a Octavia Scout then you should not lose any height. Hope this helps.

Itselle tulee tänään korotuspalat mutta tilasin itse 40mm, ainakin yksi kaveri laittanut 40mm korotuksen koropaloilla ja kuulemma hyvin toiminut vaikka vetarit ovat kulmissa. Saa nähdä toimiiko 40mm korotus tuossa minun skodassa 2008vm.

@@KovaExpeditionOlen Facebookissa Scout ryhmässä ja siellä oli kaveri laittanut Tema4x4 valmistamat vastaavanlaiset koropalat, hän kertoi, että 40mm on max eikä korottaisi enempää ilman että vetarit rasittuu

Hey guys, don't you have a issues with axle shaft on the front after lift kit? I did the same with my scout, lift it up 3-4cm and there are noises from axle shaft when accelerate...

Hey DamianCampEasy, no have not had issues with the CV's but the lift we put is the absolute limit for those CV's. Did have to replace the CV boots in the rear but they were factory and had 450000km on them, other than that everything has worked great.

It has been great, and still going strong. 👌 Done about 140,000km with the lift, no issues other than have had to change 2 CV boots but that may be also from the over 500,000km the car has been driven. Have really enjoyed it and can recommend but we found the absolute maximum lift for the scout is 30mm.

Adjustable coil over top plates would be a good addition but not absolutely necessary, makes adjusting wheels easier.

Hola, had to use Google translate for this one, so hopefully I answer your question correctly. The spacers for the lift are a kit from Rising Tuning (included front and back spacers as well as mounting hardware). The springs and shocks are KYB aftermarket but are essentially the same as the factory springs and shocks that come on the care, same length and everything. Probably you should also install a NEW FRONT-LEFT AXLE SHAFT with CVDs, as its angle is seriously changed and old CVDs should work not in their wear

Thanks for the comment! The original CV's have worked great but they are at the very maximum angle that is reasonable for daily driving but you are right they do wear faster with the sharper angle.

@@KovaExpedition If the car is new(50k kilometers) no need to change CVs when lifting, but on some old car they will make terrible noises after increasing the angle) I have got lifted yeti (150k) and had to change both CVs on the left as this shaft is the shortest

That is true that high mileage cars are more susceptible to CV noise after lifting, granted the amount of lift makes a big difference. The 30mm lift on the scout has been ok on the CV's and haven't had to change them yet, after over 120k km.

Moi! Hyvin onnistui nelipyöräsuuntaus ja kaikki paitsi caster saatiin helposti vihreälle. Casteri ei ole mahdollista oikein säätää, joten se oli muutaman asteen yli mutta auto silti ajaa hyvin. Jos haluaisi casterin säätää niin pitäisi olla säädettävät ylälautaiset. Kiitos kysymyksestä. 👍

Ei sillä kai periaatteessa ole väliä koska vaikutus on sama mutta meillä ne tuli takana alas koska olivat muotoiltu vain alas sopivaksi.

Terve, miten teillä tuon korotuksen jälkeen muutoskatsastus. Kun käytitte muutoskatsastuksessa pitikö katsastajalle esittää jotain hyväksyntätodistuksia tms noista palikoista?

Moi. Muutoskatsastuksessa ei kysytty mitään papereita koropaloihin liittyen ja palojen mukana tuli todiste. Korotus mitattiin pyöränkaaresta renkaan pintaan ja kirjattiin otteeseen. Tarkkaa muistikuvaa ei en ole vaadittiinko tuolloin edes mitään dokumentteja/hyväksyntää koropaloille, ja mikä tilanne on nyt.

@@KovaExpedition Se todiste varmaan on tuo kuitti minkä tämä RisingTuning lähetti sähköpostilla mulle, missä siis todetaan, että kyseiset osat käyvät 04-13 octaviaan. Tuskin on mitään muutoksia tullut lakipykäliin korotuspaloihin liittyen. Jousiin ilmeisesti tarvitsee tüv-todistuksen mutta kun tässä tapauksessa alkuperäinen jousitus pysyy paikallaan.

Jouset olivat itseasiassa vakiot Octavia Scoutin jouset. Korotuspalat hoiti korotuksen. Toki vanhat vakiojouset olivat varmasti aika väsyneet jo, joten uudet toivat alkuperäisen ryhdin takaisin.

Nyt nuo 4cm koropalat laitettu ja tähän asti toiminu. Pitää vaihtaa vain vetoakseli yms vielä kun kulunu ni rahisee kiihyttäessä. Aika jännä kun laskujeni mukaan nousi nyt 21-22cm asti tuo maavara, jännä miten saitte tuon 25cm maavaraa kun laskujeni mukaan nuo renkaat mitkä teillä alla niin toisi mulle vain nykyisiin renkaisiin nähden joku 1.35cm muistaakseni lisää maavaraa

Siistiä kuulla että CV:t kestää 4cm korotuksen ja että kaikki toimii. Meidän mittaus ei ollut mitenkään virallinen ja vaan auton keskeltä korkeammasta kohdasta uusilla jousilla, sillä voi olla merkitys. Oletko mitannut sinun korotusta samasta kohtaa kuin me videolla?

@@KovaExpedition Ilmeisesti tuo 4cm on tosiaan se max korotus mitä voi laittaa toi 3cm aika käytännöllinen korotus. Laitatin tämän korjaamolla scoutiini ja vaikutti alussa aika epävarmalle että onnistuukohan.

Hienoa kuulla että tuli tarpeeseen! Vaiko mittaiset KYB:n jouset ja iskarit. Koropaloilla 33mm nosto. Pyörä koko on 225/55R17 (Cooper Discoverer ATT), vaatii kaarien ja etupuskurin muovien trimmailua että mahtuu kääntymään ilma että raapii. Lisäksi vanteissa maksimi offset ulospäin, ET 35 (CMS C22 7.5X17).

Morjes, tuolla netissä tarjoaa spaccer max 48mm korotuspaloja ja ovat aika hinnakkaat, menisiköhän ne samaan scoutiin ilman mitään muutoksia ja taipuisikohan vetonivelet?

Moro ja kiitos kysymyksestä. Joo samat mietinnät oli korotusta suunnitellessa mutta tämän korotus kokemuksen perusteella 30mm on maksimi mitä scoutin vetarit sietää. Sama tieto tuli myös parilla palstalla vastaan kun tutkittiin asiaa. Toki ei ole kokemusta suuremmasta korotuksesta niin ei voi varmaksi sanoa. Toivottavasti vastaus auttoi.

Ite pohdin nyt tässä että uskaltaako korottaa tämän samanlaisen skodan vai tuleekohan tuohon pettymään. Ajelen jonkin verran metsäautoteillä mitkä talvella auraamattomia. Onko sulla minkälaisia kokemuksia tuosta korotuksesta auttaako hyvin etenemiseen?

Kyllä se on auttanut talviteillä ja vielä en ole tuolla kiinni jäänyt talvella mutta en ole myöskään pahimpaan lumeen mennyt. Ei se kuitenkaan maasturi ole eikä tietenkään tee ihmeitä tuo korotus. En osaa sanoa riittääkö teidän ajoihin mutta itse ollut tyytyväinen.

Hei, hieno video. Itsellä samanlainen scoutti ja haluaisin korottaa sitä. Netistä saisi myös 40mm korotuspalat tuon 30mm sijaan. Harkitsitteko niitä ja miksi päädyitte matalampaan? Pitikö pyöriä suunnata korotuksen jälkeen?

Moi ja kiitos. Mietin myös itse 40mm korotusta aluksi mutta alustageometria ja vetonivelet ei vakio osilla siihen taivu. Meidän laskelmien ja kokemuksien perusteella korotuspaloilla maximi on 30mm vakio tukivarsilla ja jousilla. Vaatii myös nelipyöräsuuntauksen korotuksen jälkeen. Lisäksi jos rengaskokoa kasvattaa niin joutuu leikkelee pyörän kaarien muoveja vähän. Hyvää auton rakentelua. 👍

@@veikkovahasoyrinki3200 Hyvin on kestänyt vetarit, alkuperäisillä mennään, eikä niissä ole ollut mitään ongelmia. Nyt on noin 100000km jälkeen siitä kun korotin niin on mennyt 2 auton alkuperäistä vetarin suojakumia mutta toisaalta 480000km jälkeen on jo oletettavissa et joitain osia pitää vaihtaa. 😅

Tarvitsee muutoskatsastaa, mut ei tarvi mitään hyväksyntätodistuksia koska vakiot jouset edelleen säilyy. Koropalojen käyttö on sikäli yksin kertaista. Kiitti kommentista!

Mate, lifting that much is BAD for you car :). The CV joints are OVERWORKING now. :) That is going to reduce their life span, and also increase the fuel cosumption for a little bit. I hope you took that into account.

Hi, well we did some research before the lift and determined the 30mm spacers are not too much and will work with the cars suspension and CV geometry. You are right, a lift will increase fuel consumption (which it did do, around 5-10%) and can stress the CVs but after over 200,000km with the lift and not a single CV failure it safe to say this lift is ok to do. Thanks for commenting and the good points that need to be researched before lifting a car.
