Great job on that GP track as it is pretty hard packed, but still great for practicing turns at speed. Congrats on the new bike and awesome to see Dash learn the indelible skill of wrenching on your own bike! Get out there and rip it up...when it cools off of course!

Sweet! Looking forward to the rest of the build! Dash's official shop hat! I'm perfectly fine with not starting my bike like a man. Hahaha. That edit cut was perfect!

Believe me, I will be VERY happy to say good bye to the kick starter. Dash really wears that hat everywhere. Lots of people ask him about it and he tells them all to look up the Broken Enduro channel on KZbin.

It's awesome to see Dash so excited for upgrading his bike. Can't wait to see the finished product. I don't think I've seen anyone turn a small bike into a desert set up. Also, turning a wrench is a fantastic skill to learn as a kid. Great job on the video!

We're definitely adding a little weight to the bike, but this is the direction he wants to go. Dash has started asking about entering the District 37 youth series. He's knows that he'll get smoked in the beginning, but he really wants to give it a try. Your so fast that I figured you've raced before. Have you ever done anything like that?
@americandirtrider76624 жыл бұрын
@@dashrides2679 As a teenager, I did a few races. I just got my AMA membership, so I'd also like to try my hand at a D37 race or something similar. Racing definitely shows you how you're not as fast as you think you are 😄 But it's a very fun experience. I had the same concern about weight, as my Beta recently got a big tank and fender bag. It is noticeable in certain aspects, but a necessity for these long rides we've been putting in. He may like the added weight on the front tire, but he might also feel the bike is slightly out of balance. If so, the forks can always be resprung quite easily.

Great video, it does look like a little mini enduro bike. Maybe the lower gearing will slow Dash down a little LOL!
@dashrides26794 жыл бұрын
We just got back from a ride with lower gearing. He was faster☹️. Today was record heat so we went for an early ride, it was still 103. Unfortunately the GoPros didn't like the heat and kept shutting down.

@@dashrides2679 they heat up too much in the cases 🤒 What resolution do you record in?? Brianna's race yesterday it was the same.... 102° 🥵 We should connect on Facebook because our videos are 4+ weeks behind in real time and we post on Facebook in real time 😀

@dashrides26794 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was being pretty sarcastic. I wish I had an estart. Truthfully the Kickstarter break was all my fault. It was broke when I bought the bike. I wanted to ride so bad, so I tig welded it. I told myself I would replace it after that ride, but I never did. It came back and bit me about 2 months later.

Just installed one on my daughter's, did you have parts come with yours that don't go to anything? A zig zag bar and 90 degree brackets? Also the left fender bottom bolt no longer lines up?
@dashrides26793 жыл бұрын
Yeah the instructions are not the greatest. Those parts are for an older bike, that had a slightly different frame. You should be fine. We didn't use them either.

You kids are killing it 👏 Way to go Dash you're looking really good out there 👍 Brooklyn we are so proud of you 🥰 and I bet "Kevin " feels the same 😉 keep up the good work guys!!! 🙌 And Dad, looks like you might need a third camera now 🤔.... When I work with 3 camera angles the editing process takes me about 12-15 hours of work. How about you guys?? For me this video with 2 camera angles would have taken me 8-10 hours (usually closer to 10) does that sound about right for you or are you stomping em out quicker 🤔 either way great stuff 👍 please keep up the good work 👊😎
@MotoFamMayhem4 жыл бұрын
For us those tanks are too heavy and awkward.... But we also are usually close to our vehicle. Dash be careful those bark busters can also be arm busters 😱 I would recommend open ended hand guards to prevent injury 👊😎
@dashrides26794 жыл бұрын
I can get a 2 cam video done in a few hours. I usually tell myself that I need to put more effort in, but I only have so much time in the day. We keep the bark busters rotated down very low to minimize the chance of wrist injury. We had our first ride with the tank today. It was definitely heavier. We generally ride very far from our staging area and these little mx bikes only have about a 30 mile range.

@@dashrides2679 You guys are doing great!!! I find myself having trouble choosing what content to remove out of her video to make them more interesting... But I find I have too much of a personal connection to all the content so editing is extremely complicated for me. I would just prefer to put the videos up in their entirety but the only person interested in everything she has to say is probably only myself, half the time I can't even get Tiffany (Mommy) or Papa to pay enough attention to my finished edits. Sometimes I feel I may be putting too much effort into these videos.... It takes about 3 hours to go through a 12 minute edit and add subtitles so everyone can understand what she's saying. I'm up in the air if that is even worth it especially if I am the only one who cares to know what she's saying!!!

@@MotoFamMayhem It really is hard to trim down a video in 10 min or less. I've had to just deal with longer videos that get less views. But if you're passionate about the footage, make it into multiple parts and release them weekly 👍
@dashrides26794 жыл бұрын
It's really hard to get videos down to an acceptable length. I would love to keep everything 8-10 minutes. One of our goals was to try and show the viewer as much of a trail as possible. It's really for a small sliver of the audience that is actually trying to find out more about a specific trail before they ride it themselves. If they see an 11 year old doing it, it gives them the confidence to do it too.

Yep, any dirt bike part. We watched your KX100 build for Katie and thought about going that direction. It turned out to be too big for Dash. It all worked out in the end because he's asking to give District 37 desert racing a try and the 100 class wouldn't have been a great place to start.

Hello I had a question. When you installed this tank did the bracket in the front line up with both bolts holes. Cause I bought this tank and it seems like I can only get one side to line up. Like the bracket isn’t wide enough to catch both bolt holes
@bradsmith33463 жыл бұрын
do you have any more details of how you re-routed the wiring? also did you have problems getting the tank bolted up to the frame mount?
@dashrides26793 жыл бұрын
We rerouted the wire and cables under the left frame tubes. Getting the front mount to line up takes a lot of muscle to force it into place. I wish they did a better job with the fitment and the instructions. I have a top end rebuild video from a few months ago that I need to sit down and edit. I think you will be able to see how the wires are routed if I post that. I'll try to get that one done soon, but I doubt you'll want to wait😁.
