- Timings should not be increased. The proposal has come from Brokers, so clearly they see some benefit. If they are benefited then the community at the opposite end, that is the Retail Investors will suffer loss. - Pre market session from 9.00 AM to 9.15 should be stopped. It is benefiting Brokers only. No broker informs the new traders about pre-market session. If you conduct a survey you may find that more than 50% of demat holders wouldn't have heard of pre-market session.

Regarding stopping the pre-market hours session which was commenced with an intent to curb the impact of huge gap-ups and gap-downs, we need to see whether it's really achieving the intended purpose or not and can there be any better way-out to achieve the same purpose. However, increasing the Trading hours is in the interest of poor retail traders like us who have a full-time job and aren't full time traders like rich traders.

So should we reduce the trading hours back to two hours a day like how it used to be during Harshad Mehta's times? That doesn't seem to achieve the intended purpose since most of the retail traders will then be deprived of their right to trade since the trading will be happening during the tlme when they are busy with their full-time job. Hence, increasing the trading hours will achieve the intended purpose and traders doing full-time jobs will also be able to trade at some or the other time. Launching option contracts having expiries on every single trading day seems to work since we see liquidity overflowing on Expiry days amongst index options. Crores of open interest contracts are there on each strike on each side, both call and put, on every Nifty expiry day. On every Nifty expiry, I see atleast 5 crore open interest contracts on both call and put side at At-The-Money strike. So liquidity doesn't seem to be the real issue. We just need to launch products which will attract this liquidity which otherwise lies idle. Anil Singhvi calls this sudden surge in liquidity in option contracts on expiry days as 'Khelo India Khelo'.

Sabse badi problem hain ki market mai liquidity khatam ho jayegi dosto. Bus tum log samaj jaao ab. Jitna market ke pass time rhenga utni liquidity kam hojayegi iske upar koi kyu nahi bol raha hain. Working students keliye bhi acha nahi hain. After working for 9 hrs one can't seat for again more 5 hrs.

As if the existing trading practices are for the trade conductors who makes profits and retailers loose. So more time will make the retailers more looser in shorter days. What I can think of making one hour extension will be fare enough to save retailers and at the most second as well fourth Saturday as like banking off days market can keep open.

My Statement: No profits are possible for retail traders due to overtrading by increasing the trading hours. It just make rich the brokers only. It will just increase the mental stress and nothing. Most of retail traders will incurr losses. So, Trading time should not increase.
