Grilled one yesterday, and tried it for the 1st time. I agree, very tasty! I was expecting a very fishy taste, but it tasted more like some very tender chicken.

we need thousands of folks like you guys to get rid of these fish that IDIOTS imported and released. Feed the poor, save the rivers.
@connorforhan16067 жыл бұрын
mamachip you are the idiot ppl did not release them. They were introduced to clean out farm ponds and when great floods came in the fish leached into our waterways

@patriciasmith70745 жыл бұрын
Isn’t released or introduced the same thing, it was people who shipped in the fish from Asia and put them in American waters. These fish didn’t walk in or parachute in, trying to be funny. It was stupid, just like Asian ladybugs, they have killed off the native variety, they come in your house and lay eggs and hibernate over winter and they bite people. It was stupid to make Africanized honey bees.
@charliedelta95014 жыл бұрын
Patricia Smith., It really doesn’t matter how they got here (released, escaped, invited,etc) the problem is a reality that everyone should be aware off, pointing fingers, calling names don’t fix problems. Instead collaborating in finding solutions we could overcome this issue. I don’t live there or nearby so I don’t know how these fish tastes, according to the video those gentlemen are eating the big head carp meat. Does any health entity did any customary tests in how good or bad this fish are for human consumption? Remember in the last century Lobsters were used to feed prisoners because it was so abundant, look now who can afford that delicacy. I’m pretty sure if the local government offer some kind of incentives a company will study and process these nonsense fish.

It just amazes me that there seems to be no market except overseas. What about penitentiaries, zoo's, pet food. These fish could be used in many ways here in the US, and are a sustainable source for these places.

@countryfriedent3 жыл бұрын
More than likely..it is carp that have been chopped up by barge and boat propellers, because there are just so many of these carps in our waters and they stay by the surface of the water. Also if you catch an asian carp, you are supposed to kill it. Some people throw them on the bank, and when the water rises, the fish float out in the water.

How do the Big Head Carp hurt the other fish? I thought they were plant eaters...
@jimbot.45396 жыл бұрын
Z71Ranger they outcompete local species of fish and basically take their spot in the food chain. They don’t really have natural predators either. The fish they are outcompeting include many species of baitfish, which a lack of those trickles down to our gamefish like bass. Carp are throwing off the ecological balance of these systems and really should be removed from those systems
@GottaWannaDance5 жыл бұрын
Think of them as Republican Fish. Let us have every bit of every thing and then WE will let some trickle down to whatever fish are left
@blacquesjacques72397 жыл бұрын
There has got to be a way to process those fish . Canning is probably the best bet . They can use centrifuges to separate the bones from the meat but canned fish is not anyones favorite way to get their fish .

You're talking about common carp, Cyprinus carpio, and yes, they do harm native fish by increasing the turbidity of the water, and also eating eggs out of the nests of certain species.

I have an honest question. NO hate. Love your videos and show. Why do you not have that hand taken off and be fitted with a bionic hand. Lord knows you can afford it and maybe it would remove some of your self consciousness about the hand. Ive watched you for years and you bring more attention to the hand trying to hide it than you would if you didn't try to hide it. Just a curious fan.

Nice video but be honest. Do it for the sport and do it for the fun, but don't try to claim justification that you are trying to eradicate the carp, as you and everyone else catching these by whatever means you can, will never come near to even toying with the numbers of fish you now have. These things are here to stay. End of story.

I found that comment hilarious. He could bow fish for 16hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for 1,000 lifetimes and wouldn't sniff making a dent in their population. We need to change the name and start selling at stores and restaurants, call it the American Freedom fish and millions of sheep will eat them multiple times a week. Lol Very delicious fish. They need to be netted by the millions and millions of pounds a year.
