Kind of sad that they decided to make the MC useless. His luck with fishing in the game is insane (he catches a rare fish on his first try). Then again they wrote out Rei and she taught him how to fish.

@@kahyogama8639 Thing is in the game he only becomes toddler-level mid-story after he gets smashed by a falling winged girl. In the first arc he begins dumb but quickly recovers most of his common sense and even his school knowledge during the first month of the story. He could even frigging fight weaker monsters alone. So I don’t blame him. I blame the director for turning this into Konosuba lite and turning Yuuki into a brain dead toddler for the lulz. They even created that joke about him constantly getting captured by monsters which I do not ever recall happening in-game.

it can't be helped. Yuuki lost all of his memories due to Re-Dive on his world after loosing the last battle with Kaiser Insight. that's why he became such an airhead and useless. in fact, on his previous world he's not like this.

@@reeddragon5250 Thing is I am comparing him to his in-game personality. In the actual game he begins with the same set of circumnstances but quickly learns (he even goes to school for a few weeks) and begins working to ease off Kokkoro’s burden. Basically, his uselessness goes away quickly.

A fishing rod is just a way to slowly starve to death. If you want fish, use a net, traps, electricity or explosives. Karyl is doing it wrong and would be better off blowing the pond with magic, which could be a comical failure in it's own right.

Someone tried using a gun on the fish. It worked... but it hurt the teeth when you accidentally bit the lodged bullet instead of the fish meat.

@@christopherchasteen4990 I'm guessing the bullet fragmented or the gun was a shotgun. I'm surprised it didn't just go through the fish either way. Anyway, the same thing happens when using a gun to hunt game, so it's just a matter of eating carefully. Speaking of guns, fishing with a crossbow or bow also works against medium to big fish, especially combined with a diving suit.
