Whenever you visit a major city, it’s a great idea to take a ghost tour. Look for reviews and hopefully, you will get an informed and knowledgeable guide. Not only are they entertaining, you can learn a lot about the history of the city and the residents. Great video!

I had a very uncanny experience in Savannah one night. We took a ghost tour, walking around looking at houses, it was hot as hell. We as a group turned a corner up a small walkway, and a huge blast of wind hit us in the face. Immediately it started raining so hard, we had to seek shelter up on a porch of one of the houses on the tour. As the tour guide went thru the ghost stories, big huge thunderclaps literally punctuated the critical points in the story. It was very eerie, like the thunder and lightning were scripted.

Something about Savannah energy especially at night is different than anywhere else at night .. if you don't believe in ghosts Savannah will definitely make you a believer

@@miker.8838 How true, how true! Even though Charleston runs a close 2nd, there's something about Savannah; I could feel it in the air.

Whenever I go I do a ghost tour or a haunted tour and even when I don't do the tours just walking around at night it is just a different feel like something's watching you all the time like I go out for walks at 2:00 in the morning sometimes 3:00 and I did that same thing in Savannah and it felt so weird like I was speed walking back to my vehicle and it only feels that way when you're in the downtown area when you're in the outskirts it feels like a normal City but as soon as you get into that downtown area it is a totally different feel

@@miker.8838 I noticed that too, that the outskirts were very typical of any city, actually very mundane, but the downtown was a different story. And nighttime.....oh boy!

Took some time. But we finally were able to spend some time in Savannah. I had so many places I'd wanted to visit but it poured down rain most of our time there. So unfortunately wasn't able to do much. Did stay tho in the master suite st the Eliza Thompson house and it was lovely. I did choose it for its paranormal history. Lol. But 1 thing we did stoll do (in the rain) was tour the Sorrel weed house and I totally agree with you. While we didn't get to do evp's or there were no apps back then I did get some interesting pics.. Great tour guide btw.

I used to live at 421 Abercorn St (the Espy house) which is a huge, stunning mansion with bay windows on the corner of Abercorn and East Taylor on Calhoun Square. It’s next door to the Wesely Methodist. It is mentioned in Midnight of the Garden of Good and Evil. The person who owned the house was emasculated and his genitals were stuffed in his breast pocket. This happened on the beautiful white marble porch. I climbed the stairs to that porch and went through that door countless times before I heard that story. I experienced weird things in that house. I learned that a little girl died in the house. (It’s not the same little girl that this tour guide is talking about, btw.)I had a Siamese kitten named Wilma in the 3rd floor apartment with the bay window and the balcony and I have never known a cat or any animal to act as bizarrely as young Wilma did in that apartment. Then we moved to 213 East Jones St and she quit acting like that! But I loved that mansion so much that I vowed that if I ever come into a great deal of money that I will buy that mansion and have it restored. The rooftop garden is one of my favorite things about that house! My good friend lived upstairs from me so I got to spend a lot of time there.

I’m so happy that I found this!! I got to see and hear the story of Wesley Espy of 421 Abercorn Street. Turns out that I had some of the details wrong, and it’s great to hear the story of my favorite house in Savannah!! I think of that place every day (I moved in to the apartment on the third floor with the balcony in 1989.) It was such an enchanting mansion that I still dream about it have great memories of living there! Thank you so much for posting this and for telling the story of my favorite house in Savannah!! ❤
