I love the "coziness of this video" .. as a practicing minimalist, I do "sometimes" like the atmosphere of a tiny space, .. a cozy place and some adorable organized business clutter, the glassware and well filled limited counter space etc., as shown in the background of the first minute or so of this vid. Combined with the restaurant atmosphere and the knowledge that they serve tasty delights .. People often fail to realize that hard core minimalists who live in sterile open and barren spaces, homes with empty rooms, we are human too .. and sometimes we crave a tiny filled room, a cozy cluttered space, that feel of an over stuffed bookshelf .. just to "let ourselves go" .. once in awhile. This adorable background, this tiny seating space .. "combined with" the delightful Japanese restaurant setting gave this minimalist that feel, once again .. thank you for that!

Unagi is one of the first types of sushi I share with someone new to the food. It is fully cooked and is served with that sweet brown glaze, so almost everyone likes it. And it is a fresh water eel, which is very different than a sea snake! Sea snakes are really dangerous!

Usually we don't eat eels at a sushi bar. I think it was conger eels(Anago).

In the US, the only place you will commonly find eel of any type is at a sushi restaurant.

Unagi is great! Last year when we were boarding a Shinkansen I had accidental Unagi and it was surprisingly awesome! We were running to get on the train and we got the last Ekiben from the stand on the platform...I just grabbed a couple of things that I didn't know what they were....BAM Unagi surprise...So good.

Yay, birthday snake!! I love unagi, but then again it's hard for me to name something I really dislike so my palette is pretty nondiscriminatory. Kudos to you for trying it, Eric! When I lived in Uppsala they had a lot of Japanese restaurants (probably still do, but it's been a couple years) and the innard soup was pretty standard at the ones I went to. I like chicken gizzards though so again, my opinion probably isn't one you want to trust for everything xD I hope your party was awesome, Kyde!

Happy belated birthday! Have a great party next weekend :) So actually, one of the first types of sushi I could handle was unagi sushi! I think the combo of sweet sauce and cooked meat made it a good gateway for me, but it still was a bit challenging due to the foreign/ick factor (I come from a family full of very picky eaters).

Unagi is one of my favourite things to eat too! When prepared well it is so delicious. I order it all the time as nigiri sushi. @katemckay61733 жыл бұрын
Gotta keep taunting the robots. I avoided it for a long time because of how it looked, I thought it would have been really fishy. Now it's one of my favourite things, it's really subtle and soft good places make the skin really crispy. I have read that the type of eel that is popular and eaten in Japan is endangered.

I know it's not really a big deal...but, Eels (Eel) are fish and like all fish breath water. Sea snakes (Hydrophiinae) are reptiles, snakes specifically, and breath air. Sea snakes evolved from land dwelling snakes that returned to marine environments while eels never left the water. Unagi are eels.....not snakes. Happy Birthday though Kyde.

I've been having fun with Instagram, but I wouldn't say I "love" social media. I fact, I kinda don't like most of it, which is why it took us so many years to even start an Instagram. I mostly like it because it's WAY easier to navigate and use than Twitter and FB which are pretty much just disasters at this point. I also like that 90% of the content on IG is original content created by the posters, rather that just zillions of re-shares. -E
@lillyrocks20117 жыл бұрын
Kyde and Eric I feel happier without social media. Facebook (after +5 years of having it) now really bores me. And I don't like to show my life there, no anymore. It's nice to live without it. :) In my opinion. Kind Regards from Mexico.
