Im from South Carolina and this may seem stupid to some people but pack a small tarp and a little bit of rope. When you get way back where you on foot and side by side don't fit and you find the deer it is a lot easier to put it's ass on the tarp and pull it! I've done it many times. Unless you drink three or four fireball mini bottles and then you can put it cross your shoulder and tote em all the way to the house!
