Something a little funny....I was born in 1990. Grew up listening to the radio constantly when my parents had it on. Used to hear the original Steve Winwood version quite a lot. Wasn't until 2021 that I even knew Whitney Houston did a version when I heard this version by chance. It triggered that part of my brain where I knew I'd heard the words and melody before but in a different version and I hadn't heard Winwood's version since I was a kid. Nothing at all against Houston, and it might just be some nostalgia, but I prefer the original song by Steve Winwood.

Her voice didn't need any fixing, especially when the track was recorded originally, so I don't think he did anything to that.

It’s not her song.. she did a cover on Steve Winwoods song “Higher love”. No one in this comment section seems to understand that.
