Something a little funny....I was born in 1990. Grew up listening to the radio constantly when my parents had it on. Used to hear the original Steve Winwood version quite a lot. Wasn't until 2021 that I even knew Whitney Houston did a version when I heard this version by chance. It triggered that part of my brain where I knew I'd heard the words and melody before but in a different version and I hadn't heard Winwood's version since I was a kid. Nothing at all against Houston, and it might just be some nostalgia, but I prefer the original song by Steve Winwood.

Legendary Whitney Houston, my Idol & inspiration. But, my Brother's actually "...The Voice..." from The Bible 1 Thessalonians 4 verse 16. "...THE VOICE ...OF THE ARC ANGEL..." And, I'm the "...Arc Angel..." of that same Bible Verse Arc Angel Uriel to be precise, aka The SIREN. I always come before the King of Kings returns. I'm the allegorical Audrey Parker in "Haven..." on Netflix... I will break down the symbolism upon request. Anyway, there are many other books, movies, tv shows, & even cartoons about me and the other 144,000 Bible Chosen Ones of the Bible (they are cleverly disguised allegorical stories). We will both be singing like no other before us. As, our voices precede the Second Coming of Christ based on these Bible Chapters. Confess Jesus as Lord people & be saved The Bible Romans 10 verse 9. The other reason I am here is to remind Humans they are gods. "Ye are gods and children of the Most High God." The Bible Psalm 82 verse 6.

"Higher Love" video is a reenactment of 2 Whitney music videos, 2 movies in the 80s & her "Higher Love" (original version) from her 1990 'I'm Your Baby Tonight' album. 1. the 80s dance outfits and sequence is from films, 'Perfect' (1985) starring John Travolta & Jamie Lee Curtis and 'Flashdance' (1983). Whitney & Jermaine Jackson's duet song "Shock Me" played during that similar dance routine scene in 'Perfect'. "Shock Me" is on the soundtrack and Whitney's "Didn't We Almost Have It All" CD single (1987). 2. the solo dance routine by lead guy is the same dance routine from 2 of Whitney's music videos, "How Will I Know" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" videos. 3. connection with "How Will I Know" video: Vanessa Morgan wearing black bow head band dancing with female dancers same as Whitney wore grey head band and dancing with female dancers. Whitney was liking the guy in "How will I Know" video same as Vanessa in this video. 4. did you notice 2 of Whitney's albums, 'Whitney' & 'Im Your Baby Tonight' on the wall and brief clips of "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" & "How Will I Know" videos playing on the TV in background. And her original version of "Higher Love" is on her 1990 album 'Im Your Baby Tonight' (Japan edition). This video connects back to Whitney, the 2 Whitney song music videos, and "Higher Love" song overall from her 'Im Your Baby Tonight' album...the dance routine scenes from movies 'Perfect' with "Shock Me" playing during that scene and 'Flashdance' females dance routine with the chairs. A good idea how the video was done. For the ones that really know the legacy of Whitney's music and her videos, and her song "Shock Me" with Jermaine Jackson attached to the 'Perfect' movie, will get the whole concept and flow of "Higher Love" video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iovQZqGEeM-GisU

Kygo is one of the few who can add his own funk to an original song, and still keep its original funk.
@datsquisheeboi4 жыл бұрын
@@derricksingleton3986 The original had way mor lyrics and a slower tempo. Kygo added a different track behind her, made autotuned versions of her voice to make apart of the beat since that's popular nowadays (where are you now by Skrillex and Justin Bieber), and cut different versions of the chorus together to give it a more hectic feel as welll as rearrange and cut out a buncha stuff. Her voice didn't need any fixing, especially when the track was recorded originally, so I don't think he did anything to that.

@@derricksingleton3986 Point is, its not everyday remixes, renditions, and "updates" of original songs (especially from electronica), turns out as smoothly as this. You may recognize the original song in the midst, but it may have a different "feel" on you. It's not a bad thing per se, but it shows how one person's interpretation on something can change an entire realm.
