Russians didn't know their own troops were fighting in Ukraine for 8 years, so its unlikely they'd know if there were any North Koreans there lol
@imipak234 сағат бұрын
Reporting From Ukraine has posted various signs of their presence, eg DPRK flags being planted alongside Russian ones in locations they claim (accurately and inaccurately - its not unknown for flags to be dropped off by drones in places where no Ru forces are - no alive ones, anyway) ...to have taken; North Korean weapons being found scattered around destroyed armoured vehicles, and so on. There's also video evidence of soldiers with vaguely far-eastern features, but there are ethnic groups from within Russia with similar common facial features, and as the Norks are wearing Russian uniforms and using mostly Russian equipment, it's hard to find definitive evidence -- unless / until any are taken prisoner. (And at that point it would of course be illegal to "parade" them in public (on TV / video stream) per the G.C., anyway.)

Yeah yeah yeah, I'm sure the fighters who took Aleppo will be moderate. More likely, they'll be Muslim extremists, in other words, good faithful Muslims. @ By that argument, they were never Russia’s either. There were 1,700 Atomic warheads in Ukraine in the 1990s. And don’t give the Russian talking point that Ukraine didn’t have the firing codes. Controlling the “firing code” is a plot device in B grade movies - not magic. It’s just an electronic lock on the firing mechanism. The lock can be bypassed easily by a half competent engineer - and Ukraine has many. There were no “firing codes” on the bombs dropped on Nagasaki or Hiroshima. The codes are the equivalent of a padlock on a garden shed. It will defeat the casual thief - but bolt cutters or a hacksaw will bypass it. At very best, the “firing codes” might frustrate a crazed individual long enough to stop him starting WW3.

Ironically, Russia refusing to enter into peace talks would be an 'improvement', of sorts, over Russia entering into an agreement it has no intention of honouring. I have long been of the view that the only way Russia can be relied on to honour any agreement reached is if it has been militarily degraded to a point where it can't renegue on any agreement because it lacks the military means to do so.

Great to hear HBG on Syria. I have been following a couple people from there for awhile. The interviews from the members on HTS, and the interviews with people on the ground including Christians and Kurds was vastly different from what alot of the media was portraying them as. They have been helping to rebuild Christian churches and giving back Christians that fled during the civil war back their homes. I think alot of the issue is many in the West do not understand the differences between groups and do not feel like peoples views can change. And one thing HTS has been saying for the past 2 years is that they are fighting the same evil as Ukraine. The 2 fights go hand in hand. Not every country is meant to be a democracy. And not every democracy will be the same. Alot of people there feel like they were forgotten. While HTS may not be ideal for us, they are much better than the other groups. And picking the lesser of evils is something everyone who votes should understand. One of the interviews with one of the leader said change has to be gradual. If they flipped a switch and said it time for a democracy and tried to "Westernize" it would lead to a rebellion and chaos.
@dss2mtm5 сағат бұрын

VERY SLOPPY REPORTING - in the info above referencing 'THE BUDAPEST TREATY', that treaty IS ACTUALLY an agreement regarding MICROORGANISMS CREATED BY BUSINESSES. The CORRECT reference that regards UKRAINE is: the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances. (cf: WIKIPEDIA) I'm shocked by the laziness and unprofessional standards of the TELEGRAPH. BTW: The WIKIPEDIA entry for the Budapest Treaty also has a link AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE referring to the Ukraine memorandum. If your research people or the person who wrote the page copy for the YT video had BOTHERED TO CHECK, they'd have seen that and gotten the LEGITIMATE REFERENCE FOR THE CORRECT INFORMATION.
