Tania, i learned about the custom with the odd number of flowers the first time that i tried to send flowers to a friend in Odesa, . the florist advised me not to send a dozen. and yes i agree with you , Ukrainian ladies truly appreciate receiving flowers. another great video . its great to see you supporting the arm forces 💙💛

I love the small markets/shops you have around Kyiv at the metro/underground etc. It's so exotic. We don't have them here in Oslo.... I miss Kyiv so much. Great video!

In the USA and Canada roses and other flowers are typically sold by the dozen (12). There is no significance placed on even or odd numbers of flowers. Wonder where the superstition about flower number originated.

interesting. The older generation is more superstitious here. but for example, if you go to buy 12 flowers in Ukraine, the vendors will look at you like "Poor you what happened"😄

Great vlog you put together Tania! I think (actually I know) you’re one of a very few people in/from Ukraine who still seems to be able to enjoy the small things, and more importantly keep with much positive energy even with everything going on in your lives… It’s something as a foreigner I simply cannot help but notice. 😊 Food looked yummy. The amenities close to home is something I wish our country/provinces/cities/neighbourhoods would get back to doing (we used to have somewhat similar arrangements back when my grandparents were young). The urban sprawl is beyond ridiculous now (impossible to walk to anything/anywhere)… I’m curious about the cost of flowers since I see them so often in videos. Are they expensive in Ukraine? Like how much would 13 long stem roses be? Hope life in Kyiv continues to have clear skies!! 💙💛

Thank you! I have to say flowers are expensive in Ukraine taking into consideration our small average salary. 13 long stem roses would cost $ 28. I often buy flowers (mostly field or home flowers) from the farmers in the street markets. They sell it way cheaper

You almost didn't have to go shopping after seeing that gift package from your parents. Do you have a designated parking space for your car in that high rise area? I can see why you had to stop filming, the food was too good. I do a variation of your potato dish. I fry cubes of potato in oil with onion and then add diced ham, salt and pepper and get it crispy.

well, parking is the most painful question in Kyiv. We have problems with it because so many people live in Kyiv and not every high-rise building has underground parking (soviet buildings don't, but some new building has), in the sleeping area we have sometimes open-air parking but it's not enough. so, we park the car near our building very densely to other cars :) in the city center during working hours, it's literally impossible to find a parking slot so we use metro.

@@TaniaKovba Sounds like a bigger version of Boston USA. Traffic is horrendous and you have to make a "plan" for parking. Btw I have been trying to troll Ruzzian vloggers but my comments keep getting taken down 😡.
