11 ABY, sometime after the formation of the Jedi Praxeum...
Dash Rendar, Jedi-For-Hire, is sent by Luke Skywalker to the last known coordinates of the Imperial Venator "Hex Driver", with the mission of finding an item of great power.
Meanwhile, Kyle Katarn, New Republic Agent, has been tasked by Leia Organa Solo to find the very same cruiser and destroy it and all it's secrets.
Unbeknownst to them both, a threat far more dangerous than a Star Cruiser lies aboard; and it has been waiting for this moment for ten years...
