Been visiting nearly every year my whole life. My parents stumbled on it in the early 70's, now I bring my daughter. I will always be grateful. The people, the scenery, the wildlife. The midgies! 😂

I and some friends cycled the end to end in late August 1999. We stayed at the youth hostel in Tongue and it had been our penultimate day, before we completed the ride the next day at Groats. Tongue is a beautiful place I keep promising I must go back to. Time is slipping away!

I am a proud Scotsman like most and I just love being amongst others who feel the same way! I am more proud in finding out that the community of Sutherland own the place and that there is no fat land lord reaping in the money from the tourism! Shame that down south can't see the woods from the tree's and can only see themselves! The people of Britain should stand up to those pilfering from the hard working British workforce who do so much to make the UK and ourselves proud!

A beautiful place and would love to go there again in the near future. Stayed there for 2 nights during August recently at the hostel near the bridge during my solo cycling trip

My sibs and my brothers wife drove all around Northern Scotland back in the 1970's and found its natural, often raw beauty so captivating and endearing! I don't recommend traveling too far during the low tide because when it turns you might be swimming back to shore. The water was so warm as we all trekked out on the bay/firth with the air rather cool so we were in warm sweaters. Then we realized the tide was coming back and we had to scramble to make the shore. Lots of fun and a place to never forget! We spent the night at a lovely lady's classic modest Scottish home. I got many artistic ideas for future paintings.
