What is the difference between ARPES and XPS ?

The main diffrence is the light source, for XPS, it uses x-rays that provide high energy photons that can prob the core level electrons and can give elemental information. Whereas in ARPES, main focus is valence bands and fermi region to study electronic structure and many body interactions in solids.
