I think a bit more attention could've been paid to the drummers part to give it a bit more drive. Obviously there's a core rhythm there but it would add so much more flavour to play on this rhythm as well as the harmony. Regardless, absolutely stellar job by everyone involved!

That's what sucks about drumming though, you are mainly there just to keep everyone on time especially in a big band like this. You arent the star, everyone is here to take their turn essentially.

In Jazz set ups like this, it is common for the guitar to only be there for the feel rather than to be heard. Guitar often lines up the chords the songs use. Bass and drums are often louder in jazz music due to setting the beat and pulse for music in this genre. (In a college jazz group as a bass guitarist, so this is normal for me)
