A Weirdo On the Internet not as much as you might think. It is a skill that all musicians should develop (and is a requirement in some of the exam grades) and a lot of solo musicians have to remember the sheet music before they do a concert performance. If you play it enough times it becomes stuck in your muscle memory so you can play it without thinking, besides, with the fast music it is actually easier to play it accurately and with emotion if you are not reading the score. Take a look on youtube for people like Valentina Lisita when she does insane pieces by Liszt (my favourite is her solo Totentanz), or Beethoven’s sonata 3rd movement.
