The song, the voice, the harmony, the instrumentation, the arrangement, just stunning. Multi-layered acoustic instruments, horns, guitars, drums . . . just an incredible recording. The whole album is just a gem, timeless. Garfunkel's best, thanks to the songwriters, those who chose the songs, the producer and unerring choice of rich and unusual instruments from different world and folk musical traditions.

“Sensitive people are the most genuine and honest people you will ever meet. There is nothing they won’t tell you about themselves if they trust your kindness. However, the moment you betray them, reject them or devalue them, they become the worse type of person. Unfortunately, they end up hurting themselves in the long run. They don’t want to hurt other people. It is against their very nature. They want to make amends and undo the wrong they did. Their life is a wave of highs and lows. They live with guilt and constant pain over unresolved situations and misunderstandings. They are tortured souls that are not able to live with hatred or being hated. This type of person needs the most love anyone can give them because their soul has been constantly bruised by others. However, despite the tragedy of what they have to go through in life, they remain the most compassionate people worth knowing, and the ones that often become activists for the broken hearted, forgotten and the misunderstood. They are angels with broken wings that only fly when loved.” Shannon L. Alder . . . . As someone who has made an unpaid career of saving fish from drowning, I am desolate and bereaved over the fact, we can't save anyone from themselves. We cannot want their happiness, more than they do. Will

Edward, I know. My sister had down syndrom, which made me an 'only child' too really. She got the most attention and I understood this. But, like you, I had nobody to share with or to relate to. Bullied at school ofcourse, for having a 'retarded' sister, a dead father and a crazy mother. Difficult to become a popular and social person later in life. Animal activist now...

It's a blessing and a curse. My sister was so close to me and became an alcoholic. She killed herself Christmas 2006. But we had fun when we were kids. My brother is also an alcoholic and I"m not sure at this point if he is alive or dead. I think my daughter was better off being an 'only', after all.

I love Paul Simon, Simon and Garfunkel and Art Garfunkel. When they talk about the sixties they always name you The Beatles or The Rolling Stones, and ask you what's your favourite. Obviously they're great, but for me the best of the sixties will always be them. Hard as I try, i will never be able to find the words to describe Mary was an only child: abso-fucking-lutely sublime.

Mary Was An Only Child(메리는 하나뿐인 어린애였어요) Nobody held her, nobody smiled. She was born in a trailer, wretched and poor, And she shone like a gem in a five and dime store. Mary had no friends at all, Just famous faces pinned to the wall. All of them watched her, none of them saw That she shone like a gem in a five and dime store. And if you watch the stars at night, And you find them shining equally bright, You might have seen Jesus and not have known what you saw. Who would notice a gem in a five and dime store?
