Beautiful slabs Kyle. Looking forward to watching you create a unique piece with these.

Enjoyed your video. I just purchased a G888 for chainsaw milling. Was wondering what gas/oil mixture are you using for chainsaw milling and what did you do for break-in?

Kyle, what a gold mine you have. Beautiful slabs bro. I've seen some of the furniture you make, you could do kitchen table or conference table with the biggest slabs and have some of the raw slabs behind to sell for the people to try themselves. Epoxy the punky and voids and your have some master pieces. Please show what you make when they are done drying. Thanks for sharing and can't wait to see what you come up with.

What do you use for indoor furniture to kill the worms and keep them from coming out of a piece? Do you kiln dry or do you use chemicals,, like timbor?

I do a few different things . These will sit stacked and stickered till needed . I will spray them with a borax mix regularly to help against future bugs . When needed I will mold dry plain and let them sit to see if I get any sawdust from bugs . If so I have had luck drenching the wood with minimal spirits where needed

I got a giant elm trunk 4 ft wide. Just got it cut into 5 ft pieces. Thinking of getting one of these for slabs. I think you got me sold...despite how slow it is.

Keep the chain sharp and make sure the mill has the winch . There should be a link below the video for a direct purchase through HOLZFFORMA

I have a maybe 30 ft long ,3 ft thick main trunk of a sweet chestnut that came down in a recent storm . Wishing the bugs had gotten to it haha I'm thinking this kind of mill is by far my cheapest way of getting it milled !

If you can’t move the log it would be worth it . You could mill 3 - 10ft sections. The Holzfforma 888 is a beast . Not a fast cutter , just powers through . From what I understand all parts can be replaced with Stihl 880 parta

@KyleHallwoodworker definitely won't be moving it . I live on a tiny island ,we don't have a logging or large timber industry here. Pretty sure someone local could slab it but would be stupid expensive and moving it even more ! I feel some mill research coming on haha
