I remember when I was a kid the Hasbro Rockers and Bushwhackers were peg warmers at toys r us like forever but it was hard to find the Nasty Boys or Legion of Doom.

From what I understand the Hasbro Bushwhackers and Rockers were packed in the cases with Demolition and then again with Nastys/LOD and that’s why they were around for so long and are so common.

Rockers were definitely up there on the peg warmer scale but I think they were neck and neck with the Whackers in availability. Brutus Beefcake #1 was all over the place for years too. Unlike Target. TRU did not mark down their figures after barely 2 months. I remember the Hasbro Whackers sitting in some TRU stores all the way up to 1998, and these figures were released in 1991, they probably weren't marked down at TRU until sometime in late 1994 when the Hasbro line ended, but these things hung around TRU like a phantom!

I first remember them in the UWF & the NWA as the sheepherders. Was surprised years later to see them as the bushwackers. Way different less violent team. Liked the sheepherders way better.

As a new Zealander I never understood the whole sardine thing. I'm guessing it's the whole nz and sea food thing but couldn't have them eating Paua and kina (abalone and sea urchins) coz my 40+ years in this country I've never seen sardines any where but the supermarket 😅

I was going to get the Elite SSeries since I need the Bushwackers for my Golden Age collection. But meh, can’t say I’m a fan of their headsculpts. Especially Luke, it hardly looks like him plus filling his mouth with black paint looks awful. The Elite Legends two pack is definitely their best figures, I just bought both for $35 on eBay which that’s a steal.
