Kyle, I have to say thank you. The reason is is that some of the knife makers (no not MS'sw or even journeyman) make videos and then do the patreon money beg, and look to you and decide to hove their own "knife making" video school. The difference between you and them. other than the obvious one of skill and ability, is you still teach use KZbinrs what you are doing. Once some of these monkeys come up with their patreon money beg etc... they quit and leave use Tubers wondering where they went. Some after they promised not too. Hence my gratitude to you and for you. You haven't abandoned use and you still spend your time with us. Thank You from the bottom of my heart.

I remember Kyle saying that making a sheath is a the most tedious part of making a knife but I find the whole process oddly relaxing... Usual off-topic question: Is there a way to preserve cold bluing from wearing off? I don't have a way to hot blue my knifes, but from experience I know that resheathing a blued knife will erase the bluing eventually...
@KyleRoyerKnives2 жыл бұрын
Not sure One line of thought is, the more difficult it is to do ,the better it may come out. Just a thought. Cold bluing is kinda fragile. Heard of guys using drain cleaner for bluing salts. 300 degrees of any elevated liquid presents many safety concerns. Have fun with it and be careful my friend Dad

@joem12562 жыл бұрын
@@KyleRoyerKnives Coo. I was thinking about doing something similar instead of a stitched and folded over liner. Do you think that you woudl have to sticthc at the mouth of the sheath to keep the leather from separating or is the contact cement enough?
I really would like to try my hand at smithing, and I'm finally at a point where I could get my hands on some of the minimal tools and equipment required. But I have nowhere to set up and work. I rent, and have already been denied permission to set up on the premises.

Your work is absolutely amazing! Only very sour taste is the use of shark skin. Sharks are such amazing animals. I am no veggie or something like that. I have no issue with cow leather. But sharks are so important for the marine ecosystem that I would really hate to see people exploiting our oceans just to make a sheath. If its grown in some farm - okay, but hunting endangered animals in an endangered ecosystem would just suck all the way. Would love to learn more about where they actually get their shark skin from.
