Small point of correction: a Toploader is named due to its access cover being on top and actually has more like a remote shifter than anything else; it uses a set of rods on the outside of the case to select a gear (actually has separate selectors for each pair of gears). Look it up some time, I find it kind of interesting.

I Just Bought an 03 Terminator and it’s by far my favorite mustang that I’ve ever owned.. I had an s197 and it was nice but nothing compares to rawness of a Termi, the look of the 03 Cobra is Timeless, these car looked badass back in 03 and in 2043 will still look badass, Hands down a modern classic that left its mark in the American Muscle car history!

Great video that Cobra is raw

I believe the terminator is responsible for the modern muscle car movement. It also epitomizes the muscle car even better than the later models. The newer cars have the look, but the terminator is raw and high horsepower shoved into a smaller chassis.

I'm definitely with you on the size of these cars, most people don't realize the Mustang has grown in every direction. Not a ton, but enough to make a difference. I had my 99 Cobra for years and when I went looking at the 2015+ Mustang it just felt so much wider and bigger, even from the outside. I didn't like the view from inside with the wide, long hood. It's probably because I'm so use to the New Edge, but I ended up not going new and got an 04 Termi and never looked back.

yeah the new edge was nice ...in the modern ones i like the 94-95 the best...now it became an expansive overweigth 2 doors grand tourer. its no longer a pony car (to me). put a brand new GT side by side with a 70 and worst a 65 and see how big it became, even my beloved 71-73 look slender beside them
@christianocegueda_6 жыл бұрын
iluvinternalcombustion Agreed! I have a 2014 Mustang. My uncle came over with his 1999 GT and immediately I felt squished upon sitting. It was nice tho! Raw power. A different feel from my ‘14.

The 03-04 terminators and the 2013-2014 GT500 are by far the last of the muscle car era modern day muscle is more like sports cars which isn’t a bad thing they just don’t have a real hands on feel to them like the used to

I just installed a t56 Magnum tranny in my 03 Terminator...I would NEVER go back to stock t56. Smooth like butter. Also I have a Mcleod RXT twin disc for 1000rwhp. I need it with my Whipple 2.3L = 700rwhp You should try some Mickey Thompson drag radials in back for traction. Mine dig well even against 650 rwft-lbs of torque! Best of luck to you with your Cobra!

You think if I swapped it the clutch for a lighter one would it be a good daily driver ? Heard these get 15mpg too, put some bolt ons and maybe a pulley you’d have perfect daily drivable power. I’m about to turn 19 so I plan on getting this for my 21st birthday if it’s daily drivable, that or a lifted Yukon on 35’s not sure which one 😂

Hope you get this comment, but right now I’m in the market for a terminator and found one for sell near me. Has 36,000 miles. All stock except exhaust. And is missing a cobra side skirt. Has a salvage title due theft recovery though. But figured this is my chance to own a low mileage terminator for a more affordable price. He wants 17 for it. Would you say that’s fair? Car is pretty clean
@KyleSVT6 жыл бұрын
I would stay away from that car.
