“I Should Be So Lucky” was Kylie’s debut single in the UK (her 2nd in Australia) and a global smash reaching the number 1 spot in the UK (for 5 weeks), Australia (6 weeks), Germany and Japan. The video was filmed in Melbourne at the studios of Channel 7. The song was recorded in less than an hour and written and recorded by the production team of Stock Aitken and Waterman. It features on her 7 x UK platinum debut “Kylie” and also appears on the soundtrack for the Emily Lloyd/Peter Falk 1989 comedy “Cookie”.

As a fellow American, I agree completely. I would love nothing more than to see her in concert just once. She came into my life when I was 10 years old as I Can't Get You Out Of My Head was released. I was on a family vacation in Cancun and there was a DJ playing by the beachside hotel pool, and the song we all know and love came on, and I had it stuck in my head the rest of the vacation. When we got back to the US, the video was on VH1 Top 20 Countdown, and I had my mom buy me the Fever CD - and I was hooked on Kylie ever since (and eventually listened to her entire discography). And when I was coming out in 2005, I had her song Things Can Only Get Better as the anthem that got me through the difficult time that was the homophobic mid-2000s. And she's been there for me ever since.

1987 & 1988 were the best music years of the 80's. Even in my country Greece, those two years were released the best 80's synth-pop and pop Greek songs. I was a little kid back then, but I remember some of those melodic moments, especially 1988/1989 when I was 5 & 6 y.o. ❤ Sweet years, the best music!!! 💖
