Almost in tears with your reaction while discovering this pure diamond she is. So underrated but genuine artist. Kylie is the best

Kylie is the ultimate show woman (I wanted to avoid saying "Showgirl" since that is the name of one of her later concert tours). Madonna has NOTHING on her. Kylie is completely involved in every step of the creation of her concert tours. She is a perfectionist, and that is why every tour is so epic. Her critics will say she has a strange voice, and that she can't really sing. Not to say her vocals on her albums aren't good, but she saves EVERYTHING for her live performances. Yes, her voice is very unique, and not technically as strong as Celine Dion or Barbra Streisand, but her live performances show how good of a singer she really is. This medley was a GREAT example of that. I haven't seen this performance for years. Thanks for reacting to it Dereck. Kylie is one of my favorite singers of all time, and performances like this remind me why. I HATE she has never broken into the North American market. One of the things I want to do before I die is to see her perform live. Thanks again, Dereck! :)

I hope you do get to see her live it is truly amazing, she is one of those rare stars that truly loves her fans and she's never forgotten who helped make her career at the start and that is why she is a true gay icon. I'm waiting for things to go back to normal and just praying she tours her new album so I can get tickets here in London to see her again.

@@gdjenkins5260 I agree that one of Kylies strength is that sehe never forgets where she came form is I genuinely grateful for it and not embarrassed.. there is a reason her, Jason Donovan and Guy Pearce are house hold name today..Vocally she is unique bit you can't say she cant sing..because ehe can... She is the queen of Pop. sorry Madonna, but her longevity as a front line artist speaks volumes..

The thing about Kylie is she’s an amazing singer and vocalist but feels no need to show off her skills all the time ❤️ love her for that. Singing is not just about the growling, as some others do, but about the technique.

Still one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. This predates Madonnas confessions tour. When people tell me Kylie can’t sing - I refer them to this segment. Or anywhere she does confide in me or your disco needs you and if you don’t love me - live. Also give a gander at her Eurythmics cover of Talking to an Angel on the Aphrodite tour.

This is probably her best tour - and she's had many amazing arena tours since then but this really stands the test of time - it's as watchable nearly 20 years later and the set list and production has not dated at all. Vocally she was awesome for this whole performance - she took a lot of stick her whole career for her voice, to this day a lot of the gutter press in the UK still say she can't sing - when this tour was on the road she had had her major, major comeback with the 2001 Fever album and Can't Get You Out of My Head - she had never done a live shows as big as this and it was met with incredible reviews and was massively successful - I was at one of the Manchester dates and the atmosphere was just electric - many people had never seen Kylie perform like this - anyone who has since seen Kylie perform live knows just how awesome a performer she is - and to top it all off she's just a genuinely lovely lady, no distant diva crap from her - just warmth, humour, a big smile and sincere energy and commitment to the show. To this day one of the best shows I've ever been to - I can still remember the euphoria and buzzing in my ears as the arena finally, and reluctantly, emptied after the show! It's also a memorable tour because it clearly influenced many female artists for year after, Gaga's shows many years later take inspiration from this, and Beyonce plain copied Kylie's intro to this tour in the Cyborg costume. Despite being 14 years into her career by this point, Kylie was not known as a live act - this changed that overnight and she went on to put on some of the best arena shows in the business. Check out Showgirl, Showgirl Homecoming (after her cancer recovery) and X2008 which was another groundbreaking show for its innovative tech and visuals - some more stunning vocals in that one from Kylie too! In fact, now I'm reminiscing about all her shows, they're all bloody marvellous! great to watch back but being there was another level completely.

I was there too for two nights running and i totally agree with everything you said .. no one expected this level of performance from Kylie .. she literally blew the roof of and finally silenced her critics!! The FEVER Tour hot on the heels of "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" which took the world by storm! I've been a Kylie fan since Locomotion was first released in Australia in 1987, before being re-released in the UK as part of her first album with PWL - "KYLIE". Its hard for me to pick a "favourite" tour and even harder to pick a favourite song, but I think the "X Tour" just nudges ahead of FEVER, though at the time it was released and I saw it in Sydney, it was da BOMB!

This was definitely one of her best tours, it was a game changer and everything was on point, songs, voice, arrangements, styling, hair, makeup, choreography, sets, the lot! Wow, where to start when it comes to Kylie. Believe it or not this very tour and this very thing is what made me the die hard Kylie fan I am today. Like most Americans I never heard of her until Can't Get You Outta My Head, then I brought the Fever album and then this tour and 17 years later I'm still buying her music. Getting ready for her 15th studio album coming out this year 11/6/2020. What brought this section of the tour together is she was dating a man named James Gooding at the time. They broke up because he was well I won't go there but the whole tour is about the Future a Kylie world future, and she plays a woman mourning the end of a relationship. There are so many live Kylie performance that should be checked out. Her singing somewhere over the rainbow on top of a moon in her showgirl tour dvd, Come into my world both showgirl, the video and the Top Of The Pops performance. Confided in me any performance of that. Kylie may sing pop but if she wanted to she could easy do Jazz or Opera, shes that good of a vocalist, but she doesn't get the credit she should in the US because America won't give her a chance and the UK can't get over her playing the girl nextdoor in a soap opera that she only spent 2 years doing. OMG check out her intimate and live show as well.
@jjswin4 жыл бұрын
It’s literally adorable watching you discover this. I’m 33 now and I was probably about 14 when I heard this (there was an audio CD that came with the DVD); I can remember where I was when I listened, and the power and control behind her vocal blew me away. It’s lovely watching you react to it in surprise as, nearly 20 years later, most people don’t know what Kylie is capable of as a singer. As, and as LGBT icon, her singing The Crying Game is SO poignant for her fans due to its use in a more about a trans woman. Lovely to see it. Most singers couldn’t handle such a stripped back arrangement and deliver such a controlled, spotless vocal for this long. She’s a PRO!

I remember this being one of my favourite performances of this concert. Very emotive and moving! Kylie live vocals especially on sparse ballad allows her to shine totally! For an album with her vocals like this, look up "The Abbey Road Sessions." The "KylieFever2002" tour came to be following the international success of her, to date, most massively success album "Fever." I heard there was also some thought of possibly bringing the tour to the States, where "Fever" went Platinum. Although this tour did not come to the US, Kylie did appear as part "Jingle Ball" concert tour visiting six cities, New York City being one of them. For Jingle Ball, Minogue performed five songs from the set list of the tour: "Come into My World", "Love at First Sight", "The Loco-Motion", "In Your Eyes" Latin section and "Can't Get You Out of My Head". She would successfully go on a full tour of US and Canada with the successful "For You, for Me" Tour in 2009. The "KylieFever 2002" was her most lavish concert tour at the time. The "Fever" album and tour would help expand her fanbase in ways she never did before. Notably Kylie established a very strong and faithful gay fanbase through both North America, Central America and South America, all places she previously did not have such a fanbase.
