I drove Kylie once. In a nice taxi. Back in the summer of 1996. I think. Picked her up from Nats Post in SoHo Square. She was such a sweet lady. I will always remember her.

I personally feel this is Kylie's best song. And the Kylie character at the bottom center with the big smile and side ponytails was clearly the inspiration for Margot Robbie's later Suicide Squad character.
@HanahLoo2 ай бұрын
Actually the character in the Batman comics and cartoons named Harley Quinn was the inspiration for Margot’s role in that movie. She was created in 92 in the comics and appeared in the cartoon in the same year, then the comic in 93. This song was released in 1994.

+Mark Griffiths Agreed, easily her best track. The best career move Kylie made was to go out with the late Michael Hutchence from INXS. RIP. He advised her to radically change her image and grow a pair. He saw her true potential. This is how she went from, I Should Be So Frikkin Lucky to Confide In Me. Not listened to this track for a while, until today. Never noticed before how much this sounds like a track Madonna would have done back in the day. Rain and Frozen come to mind.

Ciao

The mainstream and critics were actually highly excited and supportive for this song and album from what I remember... It went to no.1 in Australia, no.2 in the UK, and even no.1 in Israel for 4 weeks in a row, and did well in most of Europe. In the US it only reached top 40 in the Billboard Dance Chart, but the US always been cold to Kylie... It was huge back then! ;-)

imho the best Kylie song ever. Controversial, I know. Most will disagree. I was a Kylie fan since I was very young. I had her records, tapes, and videos. But this is quintessential Kylie reinterpreted and turned on her head. And yes Kylie, I would confide in you.

This song is a masterpiece in my opinion. Kylie changed record companies for this album becaus she wanted to devellop a more creative style. FIrst of all, Kylie created a song that really is daring and seductive, behined the innocent faced. The production has eastern elements in it and is really special and amazing, I think! Than, Kylie's singing in the song is beautiful and hypnotic to fit it all... I think it came out a timless masterpiece.

this song will forever be connected to the darkest of the times, for me personally. or better, for me and my first daughter. she was just at age 2 months 4 days as she was diagnosed with cancer. i can't forget so mamy days, every second of them, every little f*cking second. as she and her mum started "living" in the children cancer department of a hospital in berlin, i heard this song every little time i drove away from there, not one time without crying, i had to stop so often because i could'nt see anything. but i also found hope in that song, every time. i did not notice the first times, but it was there. i can write about that because my little girl is 14 now, had her "youth consecration" yesterday and i was crying the half of the day, mostly for myself. she made it, she survived, and with her i did. without her living i would'nt be able to writing here - i won't be there, too. but she is, i am - and this is the purest luck i can imagine...
