Technically there are actually 22 original crest users in the lore, but the ways they got the crests are different. Nemesis gained his by consuming the blood of the goddess, using her bones to make the sword of the creator. Then his 11 elites (10 with one lost to history) got their crests after they each killed and consumed one of her kids and made relics out of those. There is Seiros and her 4 saints, who are directly children of the goddess, like those who were killed. They passed their crests through either children or magic blood transfusions, and the receivers passed on the crests through their bloodlines. There are the 4 apostles, who were humans given unique crests by Seiros, and passed theirs on through bloodlines. Then there’s also whoever the hell Ernest is with their unique crest, but that crest is only ever mentioned once and is only on a single character who was more or less just added as a joke

Both are from the experiments from Those Who Slither In The Dark. But consider that Edelgard’s crests are different than Lysithea’s. She has Seiros’s crest, and then also the Crest of Flames, as in THE crest of the goddess herself. So her power is still unlike any others

@@Breidablik06 In for the liberation of Fodlan, Nemesis' Dark Sword of the Creator has two crests to try to mimick the original Soc's Crest of Flames, and it still breaks in the last cutscene when hit by the soc. So the Crest of Flames power is higher than that of two crests, which to be fair we don't know if they are major or minor crests. Lysithea has the major crest of Gloucster and minor crest of Charon. Edelgard has the crest of Flames (which is already equivalent or superior to Lysitheas two crests, minor and major) and the minor Crest of Seiros. Plus, Lysithea is a failed experiment, her lifetime has been shortened significantly and her health and physical strength have been weakend just as much. Edelgard, being a successful experiment, only gets a reduced lifetime

I don’t know too much about Kyle Ren so I can’t speak for him, but for Edelgard, she was able to easily dodge a point blank blast from Rhea Dragon form, and hers look more like a laser, Eeelgard along with Byleth was able to hit Rhea so hard that they killed her, and the same Rhea in a different route in a very weakened state tanked Javelins of light which was able to destroy an entire fort, Edelgard flips in heavy armor and isn’t really wore out by it, she’s said to have unparalleled defense when shes in her Emperor class in Three Houses, in most routes other than Dimitri’s own route, Edelgard usually defeats Dimtri, and even in Three Hopes she says she would crush him again, and Dimitri himself is extremely skilled and has superhuman strength, Edelgard says that she is proficient in magic, it’s just that the axe feels more natural, is really smart, and for the most part, Edelgard is just really powerful, and she’s really fast despite being in armor. The main downside is that she’s afraid of rats and the ocean, and when she fights Byleth, it’s kind of implied that she can’t really focus properly because she knows she has to win for her goals to become reality, but seems to struggle to want to kill Byleth (even though Byleth is stronger).

I’ll grant that Goddess weapons can block/clash with a lightsaber, but no armor in the game is gonna handle it. Speed is similar between the two…until you get the Force involved. Precognition and Force Speed are both things Kylo Ren has to amp his evasion and accuracy, and stat wise, those are two of Edelgard’s weaknesses.

He is definitely not stronger than Edelgard; they're tied "the stronger one" gets determined by the time line. Yeah, there are materials in the star wars universe that lightsabers can't cut through, so it's fair to say that extremely powerful magic weapons in another universe could be compared to the materials that the lightsabers can't cut through, however medichlorians are not the force. They are simply a conduit for people to communicate with the force and serve as a good estimate to how powerful someone may be in the force, but the force itself is external. However it is possible to suppress a users ability to use the force, but I think it's more of a mental thing then anything else, but I'm not sure

Just to add on to your last thought, there was actually a pretty decent pre-Disney book about a Jedi who feels he’s losing his connection to the force. By the end, he figures out, like you said, that it was really all just a mental block brought on by PTSD. He was an outlier though, since most Jedi are too zen to get mentally messed up. Other than that, there isn’t really anything that can cut off a person from the force, besides weird creatures like the ysalamiri and the Yuuzhan Vong; or if a group of masters decides to sever someone’s connection.

Rhea was a traumatized manipulator who controlled and stunted humanity’s growth for hundreds of years by controlling things from the shadows. Edlegard reformed a broken societal system which relied on your worth being determined at birth, improved the lives of common folk by removing nobility and created systems for those who deserved it to get roles of power rather then just those who were born into the role. I wouldn't say she stunted their growth. The people of Fodlan are advanced enough to keep pace with all of the surrounding nations even after two implied apocalyptic events. Also leaving after establishing a system isn't a positive. You need to create a line of succession. The alternative is Civil war, like Iskandr's empire.

People intensely overestimate the power of lightsabers. There's at least 4 different materials in star wars, two of them being organic even, that lightsabers can't cut through. In fact thousands of years ago, Jedi with lightsabers fought Sith using regular ass steel weapons, just imbued with force power. Essentially magic. The lightsabers broke. That said, Force users may not move lightspeed, but they have mild precognition, so any speed disadvantage would be mitigated.

So, Fire Emblems magic aspect is an interesting thing for this matchup. What you learn from both dialogue and elements from the gameplay is that anybody that lives within the universe can use magic, it’s all about how much you study it. Some characters are said to be better at magic than others, but anyone can learn and will themselves to use magic. Edelgard on her Emperor class has a max magic stat of *72*, higher than Dorothea and Linhardt (2 of your primary magic users). Given that, we can say Edelgard is fluent in *both* magical ability, as well as weaponry. The Bolt Axe and Levin Sword for example, an axe and sword with the ability to shoot lightning, are things she’s able to use without strength. All of that to say, Kylo is pretty cooked if he isn’t shown to be able to counter all of what Edelgard is capable of magic wise alone. (Not big into Star Wars, would love to hear other thoughts about this from a big Fire Emblem nerd 😌)

You could scale captain America to thanos with that kind of logic

Also a Zilo beast is a much tougher nut to crack than the Immaculate one, since simple ICBM's and a small group of Demonic beast that are far weaker than Zillo beasts took her out. Edelgard needed help, especially from her teacher and her friends to take the Immaculateone out, it was this difficult. Also she prefers her armor, so no Wyvern lord for her. Kylo has also better technology than her, so he has again big advantages for him.

@@rifasclub Not completely true. #1. Divine Pulse has a limit. He can't use it forever. #2. Monodo Purge can turn off Divine Pulse if Shulk ever realizes what is happening. #3. Shulk's future vision doesn't give him complete omniscience. It only activates when something is about to happen that kills Shulk. It is also dependent on how Shulk reacts as to whether that vision will come true. #4. Only Byleth's "god" form is standard. Even then, all it does is put Byleth on equal footing with Shulk. Shulk's higher up universe level scaling is only through non-standard equipment. So they are both only at Continent level.

I don’t know much about Black Manta except that their enemies with Aquaman but which Lancelot are we talking about. Berserkerlot, Saberlot, Throne of Heroes Lancelot, or Chaldea Lancelot. Just asking because if he’s connected to Chaldea for some reason the servants connected to Chaldea can change classes under certain conditions. Examples could be Saber Guilles can become Caster Guilles if he is given the book of Peralti or all the summer servants can change classes if they put on their swimsuit Mystic Codes. So it could be possible for Saberlot to turn into Berserkerlot if something triggers the berserker madness effect on him midfight.

I don't think the force is magic I think it's literally the electromagnetic force and force users are able to manipulate it. As far as I recall everything that force users can do can be explained in one way or another by manipulating the electromagnetic force. Moving things around? Create a strong field and manipulate the polarities to attract or repel. Telepathy? Brains work by using electric signals. Lightning? Well I don't think I need to explain that that's electricity lol.

That 21:30 argument makes no sense on Kylo's side. No matter how that argument goes about that comic specifically Aymir is still full on godess bone outside of the handle maybe and one bonk from Aymir could wipe him off his feet completely leaving a clear opening to strike as we've seen happen many times to Kylo. The only ability he has that could work is his sabre with precise strikes and his force abilities and even then Edelgard will keep the fight close and fights at a similar if not a slightly faster speed to Kylo's.

Speaking of, I've previously stumbled across recommendations for her to fight Edelgard. A better Fire Emblem character for Cinder would be Micaiah than Edelgard since they are both magic based and get their ultimate powers from a type of God. Both are also extremely manipulative and ruthless but for different reasons.

For me, El win for the experience, IQ and battle IQ, but for the rest, Kyle is just to OP. Even if crest and divine weapon like Amyr are strong and can surely tank a light saber or even her magic ability, the force is way too OP. Even so, if we look the game, sword are stronger than Axe so El is disadvantage and for her magic, she can't use any of it in is final ruler class so, if we take all that, she can't beat Kyle with the game rules. And for the thing that she kill Rhea ect... she do that with help. Even in her final form of "i don't know the name", she can't beat Rhea in her dragon form. A better Versus will be for Byleth. With the sword of the creator and the other divine weapon.

I agree with the most part except magic. Even though Edelgard in game cant use magic when she’s in her emperor class, I think that’s just a gameplay mechanic. Realistically she should be able to use magic regardless what class she’s in

The weapon triangle isn't present in theeehouses. Only the Swordbreaker/axebreaker/lancebreaker skills, which are equipable. I agree Byleth Is a better match up, though, as Edelgards strength is more in charisma, tactics and leadership. Plus, divine pulse and the SoC are OP

@@mihaimercenarul7467 that’s true, but it’s still a fact that she has magic. Also in Three Hopes, she does use fire with her axes. Fire Emblem is kind of like Mortal Kombat where the characters does have powers and stuff, but they rarely use them in cutscenes for some reason though they still do use them once in a while, and Claude in Three Houses is an example. When he saves Edelgard, he uses one of his wind magic combat arts even though we never seen him use them in any of the Three Houses cutscenes. Even though Three Houses isn’t canon to the main story (it’s at least semi canon with some of the lore and stuff), the game was still made by Koei Tecmo, and Koei Tecmo basically did most of the work for Three Houses, so they definitely know to stay consistent when it comes to the characters and stuff, and we do know that relics are magic.

I thought Ren would be a shoo-in, but that magic argument for Edelgard does swing my opinion a bit. That said, I feel like the idea of her being that fast isn’t really a thing. It’s just part of the games that every attack can be dodged, dependent on your units’ stats. Heck, Lucina can dodge those exact same spells, but she still struggled against Captain Falcon in one of the Smash Bros. trailers, and he’s definitely not that fast (sure, you can argue that trailer’s not canon, but I feel it was still accurate to their abilities). I think it comes down to whether the Force counts as magic or not. Dave Filoni said that the Nighsisters’ magic is an aspect of the Force, but as a whole, it’s always been described as a “universal energy field” that some beings can tap into if they have enough midichlorians. Magic in Fire Emblem sometimes varies between the games (lookin’ at you, Gaiden), but the general rule of thumb is that offensive magic is stored in tomes and magic weapons like Robin’s Levin sword, while non-offensive magic is stored in staves and talismans. A consistent feature across the games is that magic has limited uses: either the item breaks after however many uses and has to be repaired or replaced, or the user just can’t do any more magic until they’ve left the battle.

@@oldspice051 the light speed feat comes from an ingame magic spell called abraxus which is a ray of light coming from the sky, and they think edelgard is ftl because she can dodge it, but that was only gameplay wise, by that logic every unit is faster than light since they can dodge it ingame, even tho canocically they can't

And I agree: we’ve never seen anything in any cutscene or story beat, where a character was depicted or described as being faster than light. The closest was Edelgard dodging Rhea’s breath attack, and besides the wind-up for it, that seemed more like a beam of fire than an actual laser beam.
